Maye only throwing short isn't the problem. The problem is a run game now holding up it's end and negative plays mostly due to bad blocking.
If the run game was being consistently good getting 4+ ypa and the oline blocked well we would be talking more about how methodical these drives are more than their lack of big plays.
This isn't to say bigger plays aren't important as much as how big plays become more vital the less consistent your offense is on the smaller things. Also it be nice if we had pass catchers who could more regularly turn short catches into larger chunk plays.
Gonzalez won't get what he deserves nationally cause he's playing on a 3 win football team with the 6th choice broadcast team, he's already an elite player.
2 years ago he had 2 pick 6s for TDs, several interceptions, and made a ton of big plays, fumble returns for TDs, caused fumbles, strip sakcs, tackles behind the LOS.
