What's going to piss fans off is AVP puts a premium on big powerbacks and not the speedy receiving backs. The Pats badly need that 4.3 speed running back who can just blow through the line for a huge gain.
If RK really keeps Mayo after this season it means he really does not care about the team anymore. There is not one thing that Mayo does well that warrants anymore time with this team.
If they are replacing the OC anyway and removing any continuity for Maye, then you may as well go after one of the hot offensive names on the HC market.
What would you rather have - Ben Johnson at HC calling plays, or Jerod Mayo at HC with some random OC no one else wants calling plays?
If you pick option 2 and Jerod and crew don’t improve significantly then you’re firing the full staff and Maye will end up on his 3rd OC in 3 years.
