Good point, if that was just a rumor, which turns out to be false, then I take back my stance. Is this confirmed? Genuine question.

Did I misunderstand you saying you think belichick wants to make those players happy?Right.
This is true. However, there are a couple of factors here in play that people are forgetting.Yup - it's not like the NFL where there are only 32 teams with mechanisms to more or less evenly distribute talent (draft, salary cap, similar financial power). There are many dozens of teams in college with vastly different resources and so the disparity between talent across those teams is massive. No amount of coaching would bridge that level of talent gap.
Yes. Bill wants to fix the system.Did I misunderstand you saying you think belichick wants to make those players happy?
And that is so sad . He is 14 games away from claiming record for most NFL wins…..from that bleeping butthole Don ShulaNobody wanted him at the NFL level
I hope he does not and make Colorado a “named” program. I am rooting for Colorado. His energy just fits all that they are doing. I don’t know about next contract negotiations but I want to see a different narratives out there. This is why I am also happy for UNC. Hoping for good change!I love Deion. Always have.
Matter of time before he goes to a "name" program.
I like Colorado but I think Deion is "priming" for a bigger program. His contract is up at the end of this year and I don't think they can afford him.I hope he does not and make Colorado a “named” program. I am rooting for Colorado. I really think the only job he'd leave for is Florida State - which is possible if they have another disaster year this year.I like Colorado but I think Deion is "priming" for a bigger program. His contract is up at the end of this year and I don't think they can afford him.
This tells me something else, it tells me he was tired of owners meddling in something he thinks will work. He wants to run an experiment. NIL has given him the chance to do that. He cares about winning but he wants to play football in a certain way where it is all about the team. Just watch. I saw what he wanted, players were forced on him by people he saw as imbeciles in football. Now he gets to set the whole thing up.Confirms that Belicheck cared more about helping his son and coaching with people liked than actually winning.
I hope him the best

But don’t all the other universities have the same issue? All the major schools have 4 star recruits who aren’t starting and they enter the transfer portal. When disgruntled players leave UNC for the transfer portal they go to the transfer portal and replace the players that left.I agree 100%. But those minority of families aren't the problem, it's the other whatever percentage of families want the kid to take the bag of loot and get on the hype train. When the kid doesn't pan out and is sitting 3rd on the depth chart, those families will be having their kid "take their talents to Miami" to coin a phrase and go in the portal. They'll be blaming Bill for misusing their kid or not understanding them, the usual excuses, instead of having them cowboy up and take Bill's medicine.
I think there's going to be some, sure. And I think there's going to be some that reject the idea wholeheartedly. But don’t all the other universities have the same issue? I can see some of those players being thrilled to go play for Bill.
Yup he's done and by the looks of it he's fine with that.He isn’t going back to the NFL at 75 years old. His NFL career is over.
My point is not that he can't get the talent. Just a comment on the post I quoted about winning in college being all about recruitment which is very different from the NFL that has a structure to ensure a relatively even playing field. This is true. However, there are a couple of factors here in play that people are forgetting.
1) The transfer portal. There's real talent there every year.
2) Go look at North Carolina's schedule for next year - tell me, other than potentially Clemson, what teams have vastly better talent than North Carolina does? Your point is correct about the talent gap, and it will be a constant process to shrink that, but getting NC State to jump offsides in the 4th quarter, or getting a precise 2-minute drill against Wake, or taking out UCF's best receiver will make *all* the difference - where there isn't that much of a talent gap at all.
Edit: North Carolina isn't a program where the cupboard is completely bare. They had a down year this year, but they're still going to a bowl game. *shrug*
There may not be any games (besides Clemson) where UNC gets out-talented, but I don't see many games (besides Charlotte and Richmond) where UNC is going to be the ones doing the out-talenting.This is true. However, there are a couple of factors here in play that people are forgetting.

Yeah. They were so wonderful that they fired their coach.Edit: North Carolina isn't a program where the cupboard is completely bare. They had a down year this year, but they're still going to a bowl game. *shrug*
