Thank you Mac Jones!

Mac wasn't the worst. Hell, Trey Lance is still not starting even with Dak Prescott done for the year. Zach Wilson may never see the field ever again.

Mac was always a guy who was only going to succeed if he had a everything good around him. That wasn't the Patriots and it ain't the Jags. Hell, Trevor Lawrence has been awful this year in the same offense. Better than Jones, but still pretty bad.

Mac looks to be pretty much broken. He can no longer able to deal with pressure. But we will never know what he might have been if Belichick actually tried to help him to succeed rather than put him in a horrible situation and setting him up to fail. The ceiling is still probably very low unless he was in a Miami or 49ers (before all the injuries) situation.
You wildly overrate Mac Jones

Anyone who has watched this team will agree that WR and OL are major priorities on offense next year. Defense is also a problem so only hitting on only one draft choice will not be enough. From the perspective of getting maximum value It seems that most experts(?) feel that the defensive players are the most talented at the top of this draft. Since the Pats have Maye, picking the next Chris Jones or trading down for more picks seems like the best options for their high draft choice. Either way WR or OL will not be top 5 picks.
If we pass up on a Mike Evans clone to draft defense, and we have to watch another year of Maye carrying the offense while throwing to JAGs; then the entire front office deserves to be fired. We draft defense because a generational pass rusher is available...fine. However, you'd better have a strong plan to re-tool this offense because it is severely depleted in talent in the skilled positions. Maye cannot ever win enough games to qualify for the playoffs with the current talent level bestowed upon him.

You need playmakers on offense to win in todays NFL!

Travis Hunter is hands down the Best player in the 2025 Draft. If you don't know you better ask somebody. He would help us on both sides of the ball. You can't pass up a Talent like him if you get the chance.
I would be interested in Travis Hunter because he may be another Deion Sanders, and this level of play on both sides of the ball is invaluable.

Nah, he had all the right conditions in 2021, he lasted 13 weeks looking okay then fell off a cliff. That’s who he was when opponents had tape on him and figured him out, that’s who he was for the next two years. Justin Herbert had garbage around him for the start of his career, Burrow’s OLine has been among the worst in the NFL… the difference is plainly visible.

Mac isn’t even a backup QB.

Right on cue to defend that wall

I love Tet McMillan too but Hunter's hands are next to ridiculous...nothing gets' by him.

PatsFan2 aka laughing man,

I believe Travis Hunter will go number 1 overall. I do not think we have a chance at him at 3rd overall. I would not choose TET over Travis Hunter. My pick of TET in the top 5 is contingent with Hunter not being available.

Agreed. All I know is if we overdraft some beefcake lineman and end up with another Isiah Wynn, I'll throw a rock through my TV screen.

Ray seems like Giants and Raiders will be 1 - 2 I expect both to Reach for QB's.

He may be the best player in the draft, but unless he is a full time WR for the Pats, he is a luxury pick that the Pats cannot afford to make. He cannot play both ways full time in the NFL. He will either be a full time CB and a part time WR (which where most people think he will end up) or a full time WR who can play CB in certain packages.

Again, having two elite CBs does the Pats nothing if they do not have a true #1 WR, a franchise tackle, or a pass rush. What good is it to have either Gonzalez or Hunter locked on another team's #2 WR if Maye is constantly running for his life or no one is getting open?

If Hunter is the best player in the draft and he falls to the Pats, the Pats will get a lot of potential trade partners driving up the compensation for him. For a team like the Pats, multiple high draft picks is more important than a player like Hunter unless they think he will be an elite full time WR.

I am not overrating him. He is a QB who needs to be in a system that is near perfect. I don't know what his ceiling would have been. As I said it is still probably very low. But his time with the Patriots clearly broke him like Tony Eason's time with the Patriots broke him. Mac is now far more skiddish than he used to be.

But you wildly underrate him if you think he is worst pick in several years when you have Trey Lance drafted the same year and higher.

I am not arguing with your point about the need for WR. I don't believe that there is a sure fire Mike Evans type in this draft that merits a top 5 pick. If that is the case, the GM needs to look at other FA or trades to find the guy. A top flight veteran who could help Maye learn about the game would be great.

Hell No! Travis Hunter is not for sale.

He still throws lollipops.

Did he? He had far better conditions, but his #1 WR was Jokobi Meyers. And people overstate his fall off in 2021. He was far more inconsistent at the end of the season than he did early in the season, but he did play very well at times too down that stretch.

And Burrow is one of the best QBs in the league. I never said that Mac Jones was one of the best QBs in the league. I said he needed near perfect conditions to ever success like in Miami and San Fran. Even then I never said he would be a great QB or even a good one. I said he might have became a good one in those conditions.

Mcmillan, Hunter, or best edge rusher available if neither of those two are there which is unlikely. Would also trade down 3-4 spots for an absolute haul.

None of the Tackles are top 10 talent. Can’t overdraft.
Absolute haul?

In a weak draft I think that is wishful thinking, but I would love to be proven wrong.

Imagine what Eliot Wolf could do with all these extra picks.

Or maybe it’s best not to imagine that at all.

Mac will be selling insurance at seasons end Rob: he's not even a good back up at this point.
