Here's the relevant section of the rulebookI may be wrong. I thought that a player can stay in motion as long as they are not moving forward. The NFL is cracking down on players cheating by turning up field while the ball is being snapped. The commentator mentioned that they thought that is why he was called.
Yeah, there is definitely a lot of conflicting info. Many search results say that all players must be stopped for 1 second prior to snap. Then there are others with this definition matches my understanding so who knows. Here's the relevant section of the rulebook

There's a lot of ifs, ands, and buts regarding shifts and motioning but Article 6 says everyone must be at a complete stop for 1 second at some point amidst all that shifting and motioning before the ball is snapped.
He can. But watch at the very end, Douglas does turn up field right before the snap. That's either on Douglas for jumping the gun, or on Maye taking too long to get the snap.I may be wrong. I am pretty sure he wasn't set before Maye put him in motion and I think that is what they calledI may be wrong. I thought that a player can stay in motion as long as they are not moving forward. Players who go I motion have to be set for 1 second before going in motion.Yeah, there is definitely a lot of conflicting info. Many search results say that all players must be stopped for 1 second prior to snap. Then there are others with this definition matches my understanding so who knows.
Illegal motion (5 yards) - Only players in the backfield can go into motion. Once in motion they must either only move parallel to the line of scrimmage or be set prior to the snap. They cannot be moving toward the line of scrimmage when the ball is snapped.
EDIT: It just occurred to me that the nuance may be that the 1 second rule applies to players on the line of scrimmage.
I saw that too. In real time, that's what I thought caused the flag.He can. But watch at the very end, Douglas does turn up field right before the snap. That's either on Douglas for jumping the gun, or on Maye taking too long to get the snap.
Hopefully, and would like to see cadean at rt for a few games
I thought this write-up on ESPN was interesting, given our poor linebacking crew:
First-time Pro Bowl nominee: Linebacker Mack Wilson Sr.
The offseason free agent signing has played as well as the Cardinals had hoped at inside and outside linebacker. He has three sacks to complement 62 tackles. He also has four passes defended and an interception. He has been doing it all for Arizona's defense. -- Josh Weinfuss
???Yet another example of Bill/Bob cheapening-out by keeping McMillan's Wife instead of Mack Truck Wilson.
Dude there’s probably fewer than 10 people on this forum who get that reference. Nevertheless, Susan Saint James, how you doin’?Yet another example of Bill/Bob cheapening-out by keeping McMillan's Wife instead of Mack Truck Wilson.
co star was Rock Hudson.......even we got that show in the UK......Dude there’s probably fewer than 10 people on this forum who get that reference. Nevertheless, Susan Saint James, how you doin’?
That exactly my thinking too: Hunter/Higgins or Hunter/Godwin would be some nice acquisitions for this Offense. Let's Hope Mac Jones can win a game with Jacksonville they are the only that can realistically select him. Thanks for another great write-up.
Godwin would be a great add to this team (I like him over HIggins). Smart WR - they both are.
And yes, Travis Hunter...I hate to root for the Pats to lose out, but if the only teams ahead of them are QB needy, Hunter might be there at 3 or 4. Seems like the very best player in the draft.
