It was clear to many of us at Mayo's inaugural press conference that he was going to be a terrible leader. We called it. You come in day one and proudly claim that you hire and fire based on "Diversity." Mayo came claiming he wanted his staff and team makeup to look like "the world." On this forum we said, fans and players won't care about skin color, just go get the best staff and players period. Mayo clearly had other motivations. Not to mention the rumors that he was backstabbing Belichick. If true, then you don't want to touch this guy with a ten foot pole and consider him for any position on the coaching staff.
People that think this way, the way Mayo thinks and makes decisions, and how he manages a team, probably can't be changed. It's so ingrained in them.
Mayo should be fired by Kraft, because I don't see a guy like Mayo being able to change himself or his character to lead a team. Mayo in his first interview, outright claims he was hired because he is black. If Kraft believes he still has massage parlor problems, then Kraft may be keeping Mayo as an insurance policy to look good, be politically correct, and to possibly to protect himself from whatever might pop up on those massage parlor videos that a judge ordered to be destroyed. Because hiring Mayo in the first place after all the backstabbing and poor leadership qualities, had normal people questioning this decision.
Anyway, bottom line, I don't think you can change Mayo for who he is. It's ingrained and some psych coaching may be well meaning, but I don't think it can change Mayo when he's got a pretty warped leadership style that was evident on day 1
