Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

The Boston press would love it. No shortage of quotes.
No one hates the Boston sports teams more than the Boston sports media. (Except for the fans but I see that as a product of the media).

There’s a difference between not having the players to win as opposed to coaching being the reason for 70 percent of the losses.
The fact he keeps saying he is learning on the job really upsets me. You don’t tab a HC who is learning how to be a coach,
Being a head coach used to mean something.
We’re slowly becoming the Jerry Jones Cowboys.

Mayo was given a job he's unqualified for... Really thought those days were over. Watching Mayo Coach is like watching Brissett play QB: it's torture. IF we are doing current HC's rankings Mayo would rank similar to J Polk among other WR's Dead Last.

Okay here's the thing though.... THEY DON'T HAVE THE PLAYERS TO WIN.

This is one of if not the least talented roster in the NFL. You would be hard pressed to find an exec in the league who would challenge that statement. They have a bad offensive line and as much as I'd love to say it's coaching and someone like Scar would whip them into shape, they are just not NFL caliber players. There's been a talent drain there. The WR's suck and have been a problem for 5 years. You can't even blame current coaching on them. Stevenson clearly is taking a step back, Gibson is a good example of an explosive RB with good field vision. The defense has struggled in the pass game and they spent most of this season with some of their best players from last year injured. And they have an inconsistent kicker.

QB is the only improvement they made and frankly, all it's showing is that while QB was a problem, it wasn't THE problem the last few years. The team just sucks. 2023 was a predictable outcome. 2024 is the same predictable outcome.

There was an expectation that Mayo would be developing as a year one HC. This is sort of the year you take a HC like that. There are no expectations and you aren't losing anything. He was always going to get next year as a result.
So it doesn't bother that we have a quote and quote Defensive HC but a ****ty Defense. BB lost his fast ball but the Defense was still competent. The signs are there Mayo is not and will Never be a Good HC.

There was no world where he was only getting one season. Most everything here has just been wishful thinking of fans hoping for a quick fix. The team is bad and this result wasn't unexpected, Mayo or not. That's what is saving him.
Problem is, the Mayo hire makes the Patricia as OC look genius in comparison… Maybe he just needed another year

Bill argued that Patricia was figuring it out as he went and he would be a lot better his second year. The offense ended up looking halfway decent by the end of the year after slow but steady improvement and they were pushing Buffalo and on the fringe of a playoff spot if not for multiple kickoff returns against them (the special teams were such a weakness that year).

But, Kraft said NO - hiring this unqualified individual as your OC was unacceptable and the results are not good enough. We need to get someone competent to fix things - and they dumped Patricia and turned to Bill O'Brien.

So following this logic, why do we again have an unqualified individual, now as our Head Coach? And after a season which will end far worse than Patricia's, why must we assume that those results will be deemed good enough when a much better result was not good enough for Patricia, and a season with more wins just last year was enough to fire Bill Belichick?

Big Difference Fat Matt was a proven Defensive Coordinator and a rocket science major. Mayo was never a Coordinator he has no experience: except for being a sucky cannon fodder position Coach.

Well, he did sit in on Optum board meetings where, by his own admission, he didn't understand a word of what was going on. Phat Matt never achieved that, so there...

Please tell me Jerod never said that about the Optum meetings?
That makes me feel even worse about him if true.
I pray you can’t find that quote.

Someone quick make best friends with Jonathan Kraft.
End this madness not another season of this.
Will go down as the worst hire in franchise history.
