We will add lots of improvements in the off-season, obviously on the OL and at WR. And hopefully we will find a way to have an OL with many fewer penalties. Perhaps we will upgrade a coach or two (and those who stay will be better after getting some experience under their belts).
======
But look at where we start. Our Offense might have scored 7-10 more points more than the TWENTY FOUR we scored if penalties were reduced.

a fine QB
a running game with 200 yards, led by two solid RB's
two solid TE's (extend Hopper ASAP)
an OK set of two slot receivers in Douglas and Bourne
and OK backup outside receiver in Boutte.
=========
Yes, we need to develop FOUR starters to play with Onwenu, and
2 WR's to play with Douglas and Boutte (and perhaps Bourne)

I’m not one to usually crap on someone starting a new thread but you really couldn’t have just put this in the post game thread?

I think giving the O some love is worthy of its own thread.

Maye is obviously fun and exciting to watch play.

And it's easy to see many points left off the board today. I think some of that is just a young team that needs to learn how it's going to convert in those situations.

I'm not impressed. AVP get super conservative in the red zone. Maye keeps throwing game ending picks (not this week, thankfully).
Mind boggling that he repeatedly took the ball out of Maye’s hands. You trust the kid to get you there but then lose all faith when you’re at the altar?

That’s cold. He does look like he’s getting bigger though, doesn’t he?
I don't see how any coaches in the NFL are fat. They have state of the art gyms, sports doctors and nutritionists on staff.

Impressively only need 6 of the 11 positions upgraded. Yay!!!
Imagine how good the offenses ranked 31st and above must be.

mgteich has the right idea/attempt .... I agree with his takes.
As for starting a new thread ... which Ian encourages vs mega threads mgteich is also correct.
the post game thread is infested with a ravenous miserable pricks ... it needs to be fumigated.

Offense would be averaging in their mid 20s if they had a decent offensive line. 4 out of the current 5 starters won’t be starting next season.

I don’t like the idea of paying two guards top dollar but I’m warming up to the idea of snatching Smith from KC and putting him at LG.

Hate to break it to you but Douglas is not very good.

It's embarrassing to see a former pro athlete ruin his body with poor eating habits.

Absolutely agree! From talking about AVPs body to just other stupid antics.. I like to keep it fun but to the point.. mgteich always comes up with good stuff. I've posted myself that the defense is the most disappointing part of the team. Mayo-pelligrino-Brian- Covington Hightower all part of Bill all the knowledge they have learned under Bill you would think it would have translated.

We should be in on Emmanuel if he gets to us. We should be in on demar Lawrence in FA as well.

Balderdash. Bunkum. Poppycock. Codswallop. Gammon. Hooey. Twaddle. Malarkey. Flapdoodle.
