Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

I would take Vrabel. He did good work in Tennessee, was lauded for building a good culture, won coach of the year and took his team to the playoffs 3 out of the 5 years he was there. Mike would build a good football program here. He would have a much better QB than he had in Tennessee.

I would not be mad at a Ben Johnson hire but that comes with more risk imo.
Kraft isn't going to fire a POC and replace him with a non-POC coach not when his Timeout To End Hate PSA's come out next season.

Not to excuse the coaching staff, but golly, going in with a **** roster and a ton of money not spent... Trully, what were you all expecting of this season? Personally, there were 2 things that I cared about this year: Maye and finding gems in the mud. Since Maye seems to be a diamond, it doesn't bother me that all the others are like defected pearls, but the point is that we ARE in the mud.

Moreover, we all know the problem with having a revolver door of coaches and systems for a young QBs. It never, ever works. And whoever comes in place of this staff will still need to deal with a loooooot of problems, it's not like we ONLY need a innovative coordinater for Maye.

Trully, I still believe that one season is not enough to evaluate coaching/staff.

It's a deeply stupid answer. I didn't mind these interview gaffes initially, but he has no sense of reading the room. He's making himself a target with these answers when the team isn't winning. Maybe he's trying to replicate winning after calling the team soft or something. But he just doesn't have the rope on a 3-9 team.
I really did not like what I heard during his interview today. No accountability, blaming Wolf and the players for the results on the field. The cherry on top was when he made the statement that part of his job is to educate fans and media about football because some questioned his decisions. Wow, talk about a lack of self awareness, he doesn't seem to think that coaching is part of the problem.

About as bad as encouraging it is ALLOWING it. I'm beginning to wonder how much losing really bothers Mayo, he's just too matter-of-fact about getting pantsed and spanked. I almost wish he'd throw a tantrum vs. this Mr. Cool taking things in stride routine he's perfected.
I remember a comment from Ben Coates about how much more relaxed and fun it was to have Pete Carroll as the HC after Bill Parcells left.

Ben may have enjoyed it more, but they weren’t winning games, until BB the hard ass was hired.

You can evaluate a HC after one year when he was unqualified to be hired in the first place.

All this talk about MAyo being student of the game blah blah blah. Mayo was NEVER a Coordinator... Stephen Belichick was more qualified. The Krafts put the cart before the horse here.

Krafty Bob will never fire Mayo after one season. Krafty has too much politically riding on hitching his wagons to Mayo. Kraft recently denounced his friendship with the president-elect, did a tour of left wing talk shows to promote his non profit, and was pretty proud of the fact that he hired a black coach.
Krafty Bob is angling for the HOF with every ounce of his being. He is catering to the HOF voters and their left of center bent and firing a minority head coach after one season would run counter to Kraft's pandering to the HOF committee.

I really hope you're wrong. The NFL product in general is become less watchable by the year and the Pats are becoming unwatchable with Mayo.

"What we have here is failure to communicate."

You've got to get your head right, get educated to understand that this is not J. Mayo(impromptu meeting organizer)'s fault.

If Kraft feels more embarrassment by bringing him back then firing him, Mayo will be out of here faster than you can say Thundercat.
Ah, Karma. Krafty boxing himself into somewhat of a no-win situation.

Like a broken record...........

I can’t co-sign anything likening. Mac with Drake.
I hear you, I should have said Mac era. Clearly Maye was more of a reluctant passenger yesterday where Mac would have been behind the wheel with his foot firmly pressed on the gas pedal.
