Well, my first "guess" was an expression of disbelief at the ridiculous argument you were making. The second was an attempt to attribute your mind-numbingly bad take to spite and not a lack of intelligence. So I guess we both know what the problem is here. Definitely not spite.
No, I don’t see your inability to see possibilities other than your limited preconceptions as spiteful. Dunning Kruger Syndrome is not a malicious choice.

OL prospects in the draft are apparently not great. I agree that OL is the #1 problems, but it might prove wisest to take a WR first. Believe me, like any other Pats fan, I am painfully aware of our lousy record in drafting WR's, so I'm not all that committed to taking one, but you have to do something! The draft is such a crap shoot generally, almost weirdly so, given the roomsfull of "experts" who try each year to suss it all out.

My worry for some tme has been that just as the team finally gets the offense sqaured away, the defense will sort of age out to mediocrity. And yep, the DC isn't looking great.

It was more fun rooting for a dynasty featuring two GOATs, but this is interesting too in slightly sick way.
IMO you take the best player available among the following positions: tackle, center, wide receiver, running back, tight end.

I believe mayo has extreme Xs and Os knowledge being a former player and understudy of BB. However doing on your own as a HC can be a daunting task.. he's deep into the season he should be farther along as a developing HC than where he is now. But your right.. the game plan strategy not to have your best CB on either Nucua or cupp is just asinine. I have to keep reminding myself this is a bottom roster all around with a rookie coach and QB.
Having Xs and Os explained to you by someone who understands is a lot different than explaining them to your players when you don’t understand.

Post 2020, Kraft said that there would be more collaboration. No one knows what that means but it has to mean something. Belichick even said he didn't scout college players (though he obviously did at the Senior Bowl once or twice). We don't really have clarity, but Callahan's story jibes with me because of the nature of the players.

Anyone who watched Meyers could see that he was (is) a REALLY good player who also fitted the team extremely well. His YAC numbers weren't significant, given the routes he ran and how much the team relied on him to beat zone and catch the ball at the sticks on third downs. If I could see that, I can't believe that the G.O.A.T. coach couldn't, so I think that there must have been some agenda.

We all know it was Belichick who screwed up the Harry pick, but people seem to think Harry was a reach, when he wasn't.

I agree. I kept waiting for the N'Keal Harry breakthrough. At one point, I thought the team should be using him à la Cordarelle Patterson -- as an oversized returner who liked to run over people. But I now see that the real weakness was behind the scenes. Herm Edwards talked (long after the Patriots drafted him) about Harry being the kind of guy who ran around with his "posse". It's not easy to get through to young men like that.

I'm not sure who was doing pro personnel work for the Patriots during the Belichick tenure but they brought in a lot of really good WRs who helped the team. David Patten, Wes Welker, Brandon Lloyd, Brandon LaFell, Cooks (although I'm not a fan), Amendola, Chris Hogan, Stallworth, obviously Randy Moss, though that was a no brainer. Ochocinco, Galloway, and especially Sanu didn't work out, but the guys that they did bring in became crucial to some big victories.

Yes. No one could complain about Moss or Welker. As for the others, Hogan and Gaffney were great value, and Amendola had his moments. I wasn't a huge fan of LaFell or Lloyd -- or Philip Dorsett. BB should be credited for Bourne and blamed for Agholor in his post-Brady FA splurge.

I think expecting his acolytes to do what Belichick did on the sidelines in the middle of games is unrealistic. He told them what adjustments to make, and they made them. Making the adjustments didn’t teach them what motivated them. That was Bill’s lifetime knowledge, acquired beginning as a child working with his dad. Mayo has been Bill’s understudy as a coach for five years, while Bill started as his dad’s understudy sixty years ago. Thats a big difference.
Some are more capable than others. Flores for example

I didn't watch the game not on my TV in the rehab I am in trying to get my almost 89 year old muscled stronger. But I did read everything written by professionals about the game after it was over. Mayo is Destin to be fired as soon as this team is rebuilt.
Stay strong
The problem is I want it built by a coach that is here for the long term. Built with his type of players to fit his system

Four picks in the top 80 if we lose out including, possibly, the number one pick in the draft which can be turned into Danny Ainge-esque future draft capital. It has the potential, now that Drake Maye is on board, to be like the 1990s cowboys who had to fill in around QB Troy Aikman and found great players on both sides of the line.

Wolf, as of this writing, has the most estimated cap space - $139M - available in 2025 of any GM.

I do not think Wolf is doing a poor job at all by the way. The rookies look good (I trust Polk will improve) and the in-season moves look fine to me given that this team has so little to deal. (The Peppers, Bentley, Wallace, Strange, Andrews etc absence are not his fault.)
What picks look better outside of Maye
Not saying they won’t get better but Polk, Baker, Wallace, Robinson, Milton and Bell have done nothing
The injuries were not Wolf’s fault but you need good backups. All teams deal with injuries but the backups need to be ballers also. He had the money but resigned our players and whiffed everywhere else

Football is really a stressful sports I'm 16 years older than Mayo, you wouldn't know it by looking at us. Mayo will look like Father Time at the end of the season: when the Loses pile up poor guy.
Your in much better shape with all that walking you do lol

IMO you take the best player available among the following positions: tackle, center, wide receiver, running back, tight end.
That might really be the best thing for a team w/ so many needs. It also simplifies your evaluation and prevents reaching for positional needs.

I give kudos to AVP for fixing Maye’s mechanics and footwork
I wish he was QB coach and we got a good OC to call the games
I watched every throw in college, his mechanics and footwork are the same just a little more consistent.
AVP has taught him how to process in a real offense as his OC last year was atrocious. So that's been good, but I give AVP almost zero credit for mechanics and footwork.

Honestly, Maye looks like he did last year with incremental improvements, but he has a better coordinator, better receivers and a better line now, believe it or not.

When you are a true generational QB prospect, you succeed in the NFL, he'd be having success with any team.

Back in the day players wanted to come to NE to play with Brady and be part of a winning organization that had the reputation of putting players in a position to be successful. Even though players are going to want to play with Maye, the organization needs to improve for the Pats to re-established as a destination.
I heard that from so many players under BB
“He puts us in position to succeed and win”
Makes them look good
Mayo is not that attraction yet and may never be

The first time Kupp got free, I figured it was blown coverage. But that second time, single coverage overage over the top with no deep help? What were they thinking leaving the CB on an island like that?
The Patriots rushed six and a veteran SB winning QB and his All-Pro receiver burned them. It worked against the Bears more than once.

That Kupp TD was a Master Class in the difference between a rookie QB and 13-year All Pro veteran QB.

Next time the Pats DC gets giddy about blitzing a veteran QB, someone up in the booth should say "Cooper Kupp" into his headset.

Finished ALL-22 Tape review and just highlighting a few things.
Defense
Guys that are terrible on defense based on this games tape

-Marco Wilson (hopefully he's not back)-Terrible, just terrible all the way around looks lost out there. 1 drive he had 3 plays he blew leading to completed passes. Marcus Jones was talking to him after 1 play where he switched wrong and left a guy wide open.
-Daniel Ekuale-Doesn't do anything well, other than that he's great?
-Sione Takitaki-Takes more wrong paths to the rb than I've ever seen, no strength to get off blocks

Studs on defense:
-Keion White-He's very, very good
-Christian Gonzalez-All-Pro level play
-Dell Pettus-2 weeks in a row, been great, stop pulling him for Hawkins (who is ok)-He's been better then Duggar who was OK in this game. May have missed on some draft picks but hit on this UDFA

Other guys:
-Barmore-Looked like needs some time to get into game shape, lacked his usual burst but dude is strong! Holds up to double teams, gets off blocks in run game, just needs to get the pass rush burst back.
-Ngakoue-Never got close on pass rush, just a non-factor, they took White off the field on some plays to put him in, big downgrade
-Christian Ellis-Was showing up early in the game but then kind of just disappeared.
-Pharma: After last week's great game he was mostly bad, especially against the run, just easily pushed back off the line.

Notes:
On the long TD pass with the all-out blitz: Barmore, White and Pettus were all on the bench for that play. Makes no sense.

Offense

Studs on tape this game:
-Drake Maye-Kind of ridiculous how much better he is than most NFL QB's, saw 2 plays under pressure where maybe he had time to get to a better read. 1 the throwaway in the end zone he had DD on the in cut but a free rusher and the first read was not to DD but had a chance to see it IMO and didn't.

-Demario Douglas-If Maye had some time on a couple plays Douglas could have had a big game. He was open a ton in the middle of the field. I do think he should have looked for the ball just as he made his break on the interception but a miscommunication for 2 guys playing their 6th game together does not take away from how well he played
-Hunter Henry-Consistently good at everything

Other Guys:
Polk-Outside the obvious 2 dumb and "you can't do it" mental mistakes he had some separation when he was out there, on 1 sack if Maye had time he had Polk for a huge gain. For the most part he was not part of the first couple reads but ran solid routes overall in limited plays, looked better than he has most of this year on his routes.
Boutte-Yeah, a drop but he's a good player, he's a definite keeper, gets open enough, good hands overall, willing blocker, only 22, could be the #2 receiver here for a long time and think he'll be good
Marcus Jones-Played one of his better game, AND played on offense-woohoo, about time! Still got beat again on that down and out, seems to be the play he struggles with a few times each game.
Kendrick Bourne-Finally played a good game and looked like you would expect form a veteran.

Offensive Line
-Considering the pass rush and blitzes of the Rams they held up well enough. Very first play of the game Jacobs allows a free rusher with a bad decision on who to block. Run blocking was not bad, the stats were hurt by many failed short yardage runs.
-Jacobs-He's been playing well but seems to get beat on the mental aspect of the game more than the physical. Late to come off double teams to block blitzers or stunts, can choose the wrong guy to block. Responsible for 6 pressures, double anyone else.
-Jordan was OK but doesn't get a lot of push, was beat inside a couple times. Solid backup that has to start and maximizing his talent, not much else to say.
Lowe-Continues to be solid with a few plays a game where he has some pass pro issues. Overall, he's holding up pretty well. Was beat for the sack where Maye would have had Polk pretty wide open deep.
-Onwenu played well, still clearly the best lineman, Brown was solid to good

Other thoughts
-AVP
called a pretty good game other than the continued calls to run on 3rd and short. I'd love to go back and see the success rate running on 3rd and 4th and 1 vs passing. Maye is 5 for 5 on a series, completes a 6 yard pass in red zone, runs on 2nd and 4 and 3rd and 1 and then the play Polk got called on would have been a delay of game but they had some stupid direct snap call going on. No designed runs for Maye is something they said they won't do this year, dumb!
HOWEVER, he had good wr spacing, many good play calls, looked like a good OC. Marcus Jones on offense was great to see, Great call at goal line to Lowe.

-Hopefully they can maintain a top 5 pick pace and get the T-Mac/Hunter selection done to solidify the wr position with a good #1 guy for Drake,

-Team is playing hard, hustling, they are not quitting at all.
