Yep the time to obtain info on developing a rook QB was shortly after he was drafted. Doing it now screams to me that we are not happy with the development. My issue with it is really that it's happening mid season. Now I am not naive enough to think that it doesn't go on mid-season all over, but it was leaked by someone. Why? This should have been addressed back in April or May, or they should have waited until the off-season. Now it smacks of them undermining and having a vote of no confidence in the staff, either as a whole or a part.
There's a difference between having high standards and demanding everyone do their jobs, handing out consequences if they don't, and being an *******. ******* bosses try to elevate themselves and not their team. They are toxic people. The whole team can tell that the boss is in it for himself and that the team is a means to that end. He may be very, very good at what he does and be filled with knowledge and expertise, but few want to follow because the team realizes it's his glory, not the team's that is being prioritized. Some will follow, the sycophants looking to get ahead and cling to the boss because he might help take them there, but those create even more dissension.Have the Raiders ever done anything good at all? Look at their coach this year. They supposedly loved him. Then they quit on him. But it's really irrelevant to Josh because a lot of people arent cut out to be HCs
Look at Flores in Miami. Those players said some extremely negative things about him, yet he's doing a great job of making the worst defense in the NFL look mediocre this year
But again, I've heard people say harsher things about Flores than I ever heard about Josh. There's a difference between having high standards and demanding everyone do their jobs, handing out consequences if they don't, and being an *******. ******* bosses try to elevate themselves and not their team. A few people will ***** if you are justifiably hard on them. They have low character.
Flores was trying to be BB 2.0. Tua wasn't up to that, along with a few other players. But again, I've heard people say harsher things about Flores than I ever heard about Josh.
One funny thing about all these discussions is that there were posters here in '21 who despised McDaniels so much they wanted him gone for being a horrible OC and not calling the plays right for Mac.Flores was trying to be BB 2.0. Tua wasn't up to that, along with a few other players.
I heard that Josh's issues were more widespread, with more than a handful of players involved. He seemed disconnected from his players. This is common with an ******* boss.
But both cases are based on bits and pieces from players and few insiders. I'd rather have Flores than McD.
I wasn't here then, but I wouldn't have been one. I really didn't start thinking about McD like I do now until his Raiders tenure. One funny thing about all these discussions is that there were posters here in '21 who despised McDaniels so much they wanted him gone for being a horrible OC and not calling the plays right for Mac.
Yes, and if things are going well, a lot of team problems fade.People have to take into account player limitations.
No doubt Brady and McD were a dynamic combination, and under the umbrella of BB, the result was -- well, we all know what it led to.McDaniels' work with Brady was phenomenal. He took advantage of all the things Brady did well to open space for a team that was not extraordinarily talented on offense, with the exception of 2007 and 2012.
When Brady went to Tampa, nothing was working for him in Arians's offense. It wasn't until Brady told Arians to do it the McDaniels way that that offense started cooking. Brady took control.
It only feels like interference because the Krafts pretend they don't get involved in football things. Now that this is public it looks like they don't trust Mayo, AVP and Wolf to handle football decisions. Otherwise it would simply be like BB spending time with other peers to learn how they do things, aka business as normal. If this news causes the players to rally around the coaches, the Krafts would be wise to pay attention before making changes.I love the fact that AVP said he didn't need the help with Maye. The players seem to really like playing for Mayo and AVP, why is Kraft trying to interfere?
People remember the 7 game run that Mac had to raise hopes that he was going to be good. No one remembers how much JMD's gameplans protected Mac to the point where the team essentially ran out the clock instead of trying to comeback in the 4th quarter to keep him out of difficult situations. JMD was criticized heavily for not allowing Mac to play to his full potential. One funny thing about all these discussions is that there were posters here in '21 who despised McDaniels so much they wanted him gone for being a horrible OC and not calling the plays right for Mac.

He's lobbying for the HOF, and frankly he should have been in there long ago, but them's the rules.Best thing an Owner can do is invest in the team and the facilities, put trust in the people you hired and their abilities, be a consistent and predictable leader, and stay quiet! If you care about winning then that’s the model. If you care about yourself and your ego and legacy then do what Kraft is doing.
It’s unbelievable how someone so smart can take a two decade track record of immense success developing a perception of one of the best owners in the league to in a short 5 years look like one of the biggest goons. Only John Henry and that cast of clowns have done a better job of blowing up their legacy.
We've become that dumb franchise that can't evaluate their own team, or diagnose real problems.
24 and 22 points allowed to the Jets (26th in points scored)ours is only talented.
We've seen flashes of acceptable from both coordinators all season. Van Pelt seems to be improving, I liked some plays and series in today's game. He just seemed to run out of plays, and of course blocking broke down. And I'm afraid Maye is so good, he saves everyone's job.
This season the Jest's D went from a top five in points (per drive) and lowest scoring percentage when Saleh was there... now they're ranked 18th and 14th in both. The mostly same defense ended last season 4th in PPD allowed, 2nd in yards, and 8th in forced turnovers.24 and 22 points allowed to the Jets (26th in points scored)
41 allowed to the Texans (17th)
32 to the Jaguars (21st)
28 to the Rams (20th)
Bottom 5 in the league in turnovers forced
"talented"
