NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION NFL Week 11 Other Games

Teams have figured out his limitations and the Ravens set the blueprint. He has to prove he can throw to the middle of the field, prove he can process past the first read and a few other things. That's the NFL.
Which is why Maye is a generational prospect, he does it all well. Teams have tried blitzing, man, zone, spies, disguises. They have not found anything that consistently works other than occasional dumb throw and below average wide receivers.

Daniels can't process well at all and never did in college does not have a strong arm and dislikes throwing over the middle. Defenses just need to Keep rush lanes, take away first read, give him middle throws vs to the outside. So far he hasn't shown he can beat it against good defenses. We will see if he improves. As a 5-year college player and soon to be 24 year old rookie he has a big hurdle to overcome. I hope he comes back next year and shows he can overcome his limitations. He's exciting player when he plays well, need more of those players in games.

Jayden Daniels had 32 pass attempts tonight and 24 of them were within five yards of the line of scrimmage
The below average WR part is right why why why didn't we draft Ladd??

Didn't draft Ladd because his knee is about to blow up iirc. Bad thing to have for a young player to deal with, don't know what they will look like.

Nope, Lions are coming out of the NFC. Dunno yet for the AFC but I would choose the field over KC easily right now.
That would be a great story. I don't see Goff winning in January in Philly. No way. Not with that crowd and defensive line.

Same things were said about Keenan Allen...how did his career turn out??

Funny thing is, that team isn't about Goff. He threw 5 picks Sunday, against Houston and they still won. That told me all I needed to know about them.

I still don't want to take that chance, and I never was a big Keenan Allen fan. l

True. I think Philly has better players and slightly better coaching at this point. QB can run when needed. Goff not so much.
It would be an amazing NFCCG

Top 3 NFC teams are Detroit, Philly and SF.

Imagine if we had Drafted him over Aaron Dropson??

It’s going through Arrowhead though. It’s going to be cold and loud. There isn’t one team in the AFC that is mentally or physically tough to overcome that.

This is a big game for Buffalo at home to show KC doesn’t own them. If they don’t beat them Sunday, they won’t in January at Arrowhead.

Yes imo its a one team race in the nfc unless sf gets on a roll, which they could with cmac back. So possibly a 2 team race.

Im not sold whatsoever on philly or Minnesota. Phillys offense looked pretty rough last night until the commanders d was completely exhausted at the end due to all the 3 and outs.

I don’t think he will have to go to Philly in January. The game could probably be at home in Detroit . Lions have the most complete team IMO.

They look good. Philly is coming on strong however and have a cake schedule. Lions still play Minny and GB at least a couple more times. Philly will have the #1 seed once it plays out

Buffalo winning on Sunday makes no difference. It made zero difference in 2021 and last season when they beat KC. Bills will be judged on the postseason. Nothing else. At some point, their HC has to go if they can't beat KC in the postseason. Or anyone else to get to a SB. Bill as Bills HC would be a game changer imo.

@KCSVEN good point. If he can't learn to throw over the middle, Washington will be looking to draft a new QB by 2026.

SF might be the 3rd team in the NFC. Though...probably by default. They aren't a legit SB contender imo.

Then you'll change your screen name to "BB to Bills."

Eagles-Chefs part 2 coming this February.
Ugh

I'm hoping it's Lions and Billdos and the Billdos get lit up. Make it 5 SB appearances with no wins. That would be better than them not getting to the SB actually. It would be an extra kick to the balls for them. =)

I searched and couldn't find the Week 11 Pre-Game thread, sb1 usually does it, but it's not there this week.

Anyway, I found the Herald Callahan article on the defense during the '19 Super Bowl really interesting.

The secondary was filled with people who were flexible and who could cover 1 on 1. So they went to zone and messed with Goff. McCourty x2, Gilmore, Jon Jones, were the keys.

I didn't even realize that a Brian Flores defense blitzed just once all game. That amazed me.

It shows how dominant Trey Flowers, Hightower, Elandon Roberts were up front.

But one detail leaked out of that article. The Patriots were adding new wrinkles to their typical defense in the1st week's preparation. Belichick went back and looked at how Matt Patricia had locked down the Rams in their regular season loss to Detroit. He changed the entire script from their preparations and had them adopt Patricia's gameplan, using a defense that Belichick personally hated (quarters).

McVay was forced to change things up after that as his top 11 offense in NFL history had to undergo radical changes.
