Maye was ok today. Not great. Not terrible. Bears D is legit though.

Very happy Da Bearz took Williams at 1 while we got Maye. Williams doesn't lift up his teammates; not a leader. Mopes about the game. No passion when things go bad.

Got a bit of the MacMan in him.
In hindsight it should have probably gone Jayden, Maye then Williams, of course hindsight is 20-20.

The stock is up on Mayo. If he can get one more win this year matching 2023, he'll be safe.
As long as he doesn’t get another Gatorade Bath if/when he gets that 4th win! Can we all give a “Keep him dry” cheer!

I predicted Williams a bust over a year ago. Character trumps talent every day of the week.

But, Daniels & Nix look pretty good. I hope we can develop Maye out of those bad rookie mistakes.

Possibly the most insane stat of the 2024 season so far:

Sacks, season:
Matt Judon, 1.5
Brenden Schooler, 1.0

That said, I really hope they use Schooler more on defense in the way that Belichick basically wouldn't with Ebner.
Love Schooler, but until the day I die I will probably still laugh at him trying to hand BB that ball. It was comedy gold.

Near interception in the end zone is what I meant. The other interception was just a bad decision. I have noticed that he makes a couple really bad throws a game when under pressure which he needs to work on.
That pass in the end zone had a safety in front so he couldn't lead Henry

They clicked on something today, the defense had their act together and AVP actually seemed like he had a semblance of a clue with the play calling. With steady improvement and maybe some guys coming back from injury/new to team (Dugger? Strange? Wallace? Barmore? Ngakoue?) they could crack a few more wins. A 6 win season would be meeting or perhaps even slightly exceeding expectations with this roster while also providing a little bit of incentive for free agents to buy in and sign. It would also likely still be a top 10 draft selection.

I don't know if it was coincidence or whatever I was thinking today why don't they use schooler in pass defense considering the way he tackles and I saw him being used.

My wife was with me while I was watching the game, in the 4th quarter she said “your team is winning but I haven’t seen you get animated at all, why?” I said they haven’t really been close or had any dramatics at all, they’ve just been winning the whole game and increasing their lead. The other team hasn’t really ever had a real chance. She said “so like it used to be?” That one made me happy and sad at the same time lol

Are you not entertained??

Unfortunately for them they are the perfect example of what happens when making the fans happy matters more than building a long term contender.

He did not need to lead him at all. He could have hit him directly and more importantly low. Instead he went high and behind.

SB win still in play.

so… should we have started Maye day 1 after all?

I think they could've bought themselves more time, if that was their true plan, had they signed a competent backup. That being said, hard to say if he should've or not. A handful of games studying didn't seem to hurt him.
