I dont think they should go for 2 unless they have to. This offense is terrible. Every step forward they take 2 steps back. Chances of them making 1 got to have it play from that distance is like 25%Mayo isn't the guy to lead us through this rebuild.
Even if BB worked thru his contract extension, this year or even the final year, I don't think he would be ready.
What Mayo lacks, and truth be told the entire staff, is experience. You can see it on the field in every game. Running a practice is one thing, but coordinating a game is another.
The decision to not go for two is a good example. One question I wish was asked, and if the was please give me the answer, is did the team have a two point play ready... It's a simple question... Were they prepared enough to cover that eventuality? I dunno...but seemingly they weren't.
46% vs 48%I dont think they should go for 2 unless they have to. This offense is terrible. Every step forward they take 2 steps back. Chances of them making 1 got to have it play from that distance is like 25%
48% is the winning percentage of going to overtime.46% vs 48%
I find it hard to believe that we should stick with Jerod Mayo, because thats the best we could do. That is such a depressing thought !!The dilemma not only the Pats face is that coaching in the NFL in general has been on a decline for years. There has been way too much turnover. Let’s say they move on from Mayo, the chances that the Pats find an effective coach are pretty slim.
Andy Reid is the last HC to coach in the 90’s, 2000’s, 2010’s into the 2020’s. Once he’s gone, the list of HC’s in the NFL is quite brutal.
Yeah, especially when their best defensive lineman was so gassed he faked an injury48% is the winning percentage of going to overtime.
I was going to say this.Mayo should be estatic if someone gives him a LB coach job after he gets fired

That's the league average. Now take the worst team in the league with the worst OL, worst running game, And worst receivers in the league.46% vs 48%

And we saw what happened in OT.That's the league average. Now take the worst team in the league with the worst OL, worst running game, And worst receivers in the league.
Not like we trying to go into the playoffs at 2-6. Why not let him sling it, or run it in.And we saw what happened in OT.
7:26 minute, 72 yard drive., fg.
I'd rather take a shot at the W when they were on their heels, tyvm.
WR is still a huge need.He had a sweet draft spot THIS year.
I was going to say this.
The fact that if he gets fired it will be tough to get even a coordinator position.
Should scream he’s not Head Coach material and you can do much better.
Ben Johnson, Joe Brady, Mike Vrabel, Kliff Kingsbury, Kellen Moore, all names I would take in a second and kick Mayo to the Curb.
Also I would Hire Mcdaniels over Mayo and sleep like a baby,
If they don't convert, everybody ****s all over Mayo for being cute and risking the game on one play after it took a miracle for Maye to get a TD there and not taking OT and potentially winning a coin toss or holding them to 3 (which they did). And we saw what happened in OT.

i dont give a crap about how you take my argument. they held them to a field goal? is that what you took from that? they dismantled what was left of our d in ot. the only reason they went for the field goal is a muffed snap on third and 2.If they don't convert, everybody ****s all over Mayo for being cute and risking the game on one play after it took a miracle for Maye to get a TD there and not taking OT and potentially winning a coin toss or holding them to 3 (which they did).
This is one of those things where Mayo made the call almost everyone would have made and because it didn't work out, people are questioning it when the alternative not working out would have been viewed infinitely worse.
Even if I take your argument at face value. The Patriots did hold the Titans to a field goal. They were 20 yards away from being in field goal range to tie the game. A young rooke QB making a bad decision is what prematurely ended that chance. They were all lined up to have a shot to tie or win the game.
You can ignore the context all you want. The defense may have gotten driven on, but they did what we needed and we were at near mid field before the two minute warning. We at a minimum should have tied that game if not won it if not for a bad decision.i dont give a crap about how you take my argument. they held them to a field goal? is that what you took from that? they dismantled what was left of our d in ot. the only reason they went for the field goal is a muffed snap on third and 2.
we're 2-6. on the road. with a shot at a W. no matter what "mayo chose"*, hes going to get crapped on. hes got to be used to it now. we are playing maye now. why? to learn. to grow. to get experience. this was a perfect opportunity for just that.
* and understand this - Mayo didn't make the call. he couldn't even answer the question why after the game.
no. they didnt do what they were supposed to. the defense failed. they were bailed out by an error. You can ignore the context all you want. The defense may have gotten driven on, but they did what we needed and we were at near mid field before the two minute warning. We at a minimum should have tied that game if not won it if not for a bad decision.
Your argument is basically after Drake Maye ran around forever to get a TD that we should risk the whole game on that same unlikely scenario again just because. If they missed I can guarantee their would be a ****storm calling for Mayo's head for doing that and needlessly risking the game.
It would have been a stupid decision.
I gaurantee you if they went for it and didn't convert the narrative would be that Mayo got cute and did something unorthdox when his QB just barely got a TD a play before and blew the game. And people would go back to calling for his head.no. they didnt do what they were supposed to. the defense failed. they were bailed out by an error.
you go for the W. hands down we made the wrong decision. the results of the record setting ot drive by the titans is proof of that.
