Bruins 2024-2025

I'm beginning to really despise the newest Lindstrom... I already despise ZaZa... And for Ganja's sake, please send Poitras to either junior hockey if he has any remaining eligibility or to the AHL, because he just doesn't belong on the same ice sheet as Grown Men...
Marchand is Finished, that much is certain; but he's also taking Coyle with him...

I understand the frustrations. It is maddening watching this team skate around as individuals out there, no one is on the same page. It's inexplicable considering the talent on this roster and this is a fairly talented roster despite how they're playing. I'd send Lohrei down before I ship Poitras out but no objection to putting them both on a Providence bound bus.

Sitting out another season. Still have ptsd from the epic collapse from a couple of seasons ago. Just can’t do it.

I would be doing the same thing, but now that I’m back in the 02122 it’s impossible not to know what’s going on there… Next year will mark the 10th anniversary already of the most poorly-run 1st round in the history of the NHL draft; and until the reason for that “distinction “ is removed from office, nothing - and I mean Nothing - will Ever change.

What talent? Certainly not up front, where they absolutely Suck.
They did not add enough offense after the last post season debacle.

Same BS. Pasta is the offense.

The Bruins have 9 goals in the last 6 games - avg. 1.5 goals per game wont win jack 5hit unless Swayman is a wall.

The Panthers have 25 goals in the last 6 games. Avg 4 + goals per game.

Loss to the Pred's looks worse ones the final score than it was. This team just hasn't quite jelled yet. It's painfully obvious the roster changes and early road trip haven't helped any. There's too much talent there for it not to come together eventually but this missing by by inches they're suffering through makes for a tough watch at times. The upcoming schedule isn't going to help much, no extra practice time on the horizon.
I truly don't see the "too much talent" that you see.
In fact, the skilled portion of the roster all come with serious flaws.
Pasta....a one trick pony whose softness gets exposed in the playoffs when actual checking occurs.
Ditto for Marchand who sadly is well past his prime.
McAvoy has quickly ascended to "dumbest Bruin".
Most of the rest of the roster are slow footed JAGs who may be better suited for playoff hockey but this team may never get to the post season.
The B's offense is offensive.
I watched 2 shifts of Poitras the other night and wondered how this guy has a job in pro hockey, at any level.
Perhaps this group is so mentally broken after Florida already kicked the crap out of them twice this season, both on the scoreboard and in the octagon. Men vs boys...no contest.

Unlike 99% of the posters on sports forum I don't have all the answers. Obviously neither does Montgomery, at least not based on what we're seeing. Granted the games are played on ice not paper but going down the roster player by player this is a more talented roster than last year's everywhere but in net. The two biggest 'losses' were DeBrusk and Grzelcyk. Is there anyone here who thinks Jake DeBrusk is a better player than Elias Lindholm? As much as I loved Grzelcyk's speed and pluck he got knocked off the puck far too easily, historically that's not something that happens to Zadarov very often. Heinen caught some lightning in a bottle the front 2/3's of last season but tailed off and certainly was adequately replaced by Kastelic. The problem isn't the caliber of the individual replacements, the problem is the way all of the players play as a team.

Pasta is who he is, he's a finisher. Players who regularly find the back of the net at the rate he does are rare and as a result teams tolerate the holes in their games, the B's are no exception in that regard. Hell, arguably the greatest offensive player of all time couldn't find his own end on a map and Pasta isn't close to that bad.

Maybe Marchand is cooked or maybe he's a bit slow bouncing back from three off-season procedures but he's still bringing it every night, can't question his grit. Past performance indicates he's a player who thrives on his minutes hopefully his game picks up with them, he's not a guy I'd bet against that way but ofc Father Time is undefeated.

McAvoy's play I am at a loss to understand. His strength was always in his intuitive hockey sense and fluidity. Now it's obvious he's trying to do too much and drastically over thinking his game In fact he's sorta representative of the team that way. He's playing tight, thinking instead of doing which a lot of them seem to have going on.

There has to be room on every NHL roster for a Poitras, a young (very in his case) player with huge upside talent working towards finding his game at the NHL level. On the flip side Max Jones doesn't belong in an NHL uniform, period.

I see a team that's looking for the perfect pass but seemingly incapapable of making it being coached by a guy whose forte is team fundamentals. The D is not clearing the zone commandingly. The forwards aren't shooting near enough or going to the net when someone finally does, it's maddening. All 18 players couldn't have suddenly forgotten how the team game is played but that's sure what it looks like out there

I'm at a loss to understand it.

Solid effort yesterday backed up by the best period they've played all year in the 1st tonight. All of which amounts to nothing if they can't keep it going. They're really on the forecheck and everyone's feet are moving. Hopefully the start of something

i thought they have looked better the last two games. Swayman was outstanding yesterday afternoon. hopefully everyone is settling in and becoming comfortable.

Fingers crossed it's the beginning of them coming together. There truly is too much talent there for the way they've been playing. Really hope that performance acts as a catalyst for Swayman, he's had a rough start.

The defense has settled-down, more or less, as I figured it would eventually... Still not a fan of the Lorhei/Weatherspoon - Peekey Blinders 3rd pairing however. Anyway, the Real Problem remains what it is...

#FireSweeney

Sweeney has had some ass drafts but overall there are a lot of worse GM's. His biggest mistakes were not forcing Seguin to toe the line, letting Clod force moving him and not going to arbitration with Swayman instead of extending him on the cheap 2 years ago. He gets that done and the cap is there this year to lure Reinhart away from FL. Imagine getting Reinhart away from your chief rival. How good would this team look if that could've been done rather than signing Lindholm? Lindholm is a legit 1C but Reinhart is a roster changing player. Adding him here and subtracting him from FL... hockeygasm

Lindholm (aka Eurotrash 2) is no higher than a #2C on a legit Playoff team, and a #3 on a Final 4 team.

The ChiaPet traded Seguin, not Sweeney.

Sweeney's biggest mistake was the 2015 draft, followed by the 2016 trade deadline, followed by the 2016 draft, etc etc etc...

F'n Chiarelli guess I'm still trying to block him out.

My thoughts exactly. That was a dud against Toronto. Dumb penalties and lack luster play

3 of their most expensive players making 3 Horrible decisions in a span of barely two minutes… Game Over.

D-U-M-B level unthinking penalties has become a recurring theme this season, just crazy

Apparently, the B's have decided there is no room for Poitras, at least for now.

Just two weeks ago, Poitras was given his biggest opportunity yet when he skated on the second line, but that experiment lasted all of just one period before he was quickly pushed back down in the lineup. Since then, Poitras has accounted for one point in his last seven games and put only four shots on goal.

Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery said on Monday that he’d like to see “more of an impact in the game” from Poitras and for the young forward to “make more plays and understand our structure.”

Yep, the little dude Sucks. He's a boy playing a Man's game. Will that change in the future, after he learns how to shave? Maybe, but I doubt it... Sweeney ****ing sucks at drafting, after all, and this kid - Dorothy Hamill part deaux - didn't score enough in junior hockey for my liking anyway. Bust.
