So, how you feeling about our draft class?

Not one of the guys drafted after Maye was a superior athlete,
Joe Milton
Superior athlete / Inferior QB

I bet Al Groh's kid loved this pick

White was an awful pick with the offensive talent still available and the patriots being in dire need of actual talent on offense
White still hasn’t turned into that elite rusher they thought he was going to be …..hopefully he can get it together….or when Barmore comes back it will help

Interestingly…..Kyle Van Noy who’s 33 now is #4 in sacks this year! Always loved that guy here!

Ambivalent ..............................................................................................

All of them are awfully quiet

If they aren’t superstars by week 8 of their rookie year then they are obvious busts. That’s why Tom Brady sucked so bad.

If Drake Maye becomes a super star QB, then nobody will remember the rest of this draft.

The 2000 draft was absolutely awful, but nobody mentions it because of how Tom Brady turned out.

If Maye is an all pro level QB the rest of the draft class can retire and move on because we got all we needed out of it.

The OLinemen you need to give this year into next to see how they develop. Obviously Polk is scary

Wrong.

One player per draft does NOT cut the ****ing mustard.

I haven’t seen one analyst or fan criticizing the 2000 draft because Brady emerged. Had he not, we all know Bill would’ve been gone after 2001.

The 1st round pick for Bill didn’t help, but that draft was absolutely awful and a big reason why they went 5-11.

Is there a time limit on when we can stop reliving BB's drafts?

True, the draft itself I would still consider a win. It would just be very concerning for the FO if they cant land at least 2 more good players with all those picks, including having pick 34. For job security purposes they either need to hope some of these guys turn it around or they really knock 2025 out the park

No. It was relevant to the conversation.
Okay. Even as a BB Kool aid drinker, I have moved on and I'm invested in the next iteration of the Patriots, including this version.

It was related to the question of the thread. If Drake Maye is a super star player, people will forget the rest of the draft. However, now drafts after that will be scrutinized more heavily - just like Bill’s were.

They just need to do better next off-season or they won’t be picking players much longer.

Be fair Ivan. It’s not even about being superstars. None of them even have a pulse. If’s like the walking dead out there. Just awful.

1 (3): QB Drake Maye, North Carolina.
- loved the pick and has flashed real talent. We have our starting QB
2 (37): WR Ja'Lynn Polk, Washington.
- liked the pick but he has struggled. I still expect him to be a good WR for us
3 (68): OT Caedan Wallace, Penn State.
- hated the pick. He has some good film but don't think he is anything special
4 (103): G Layden Robinson, Texas A&M.
- I liked the pick and think he is gong to be a good G for us
4 (110): WR Javon Baker, UCF.
- I loved the pick and thought this was the steal of the draft (along with TE Bell). He has struggled to learn the playbook by all accounts and hasn't seen that much playing time. head scratcher but i am confident. could be a guy like Boutte that took a couple years but now shows flashes.
6 (180): CB Marcellas Dial, South Carolina.
- late round pick so you get what you get. I think he has turned out pretty good so far for a 6th rd pick
6 (193): QB Joe Milton III, Tennessee.
- another steal in the late round. would love for him to get some playing time if Maye is out. No need to play Jacoby any longer
7 (231): TE Jaheim Bell, Florida State.
- loved the pick and thought it was one of the steals of this draft. look forward to seeing how he develops
