Patriots Player Departure Josh Uche traded to Chiefs for 2026 6th

Luck "counts" but it's not sustainable.
Remind me after the Threepeat I don't see a Team that can outright beat them if Mahomes and Jones are healthy.

Cant wait until we package this pick to move up 4 spots in the 5th round and take a guy who will never make an NFL roster. The only thing the pats have gotten right lately is Gonzalez and Maye.

If KC doesn't bring their A game I can see the Bills and Ravens beating them for sure.

6th round picks in 2026 are not moving the needle.

These trades do nothing but demoralize the team and help the chiefs

Chiefs aren’t going 20-0. They just beat the Raiders by 7 and have been aided by the refs seversl times. Luck will run out eventually.
The 2007 Patriots barely got by a mediocre Eagles and Raiders team. There's going to be games where you need some luck.

OFC Buffalo and Baltimore would need to bring their A games to do it. All acknowledgements to RLKAG but neither team has displayed a finely honed killer instinct. They both have a habit of stubbing their collective toes in big moments

When have they not bring their A game in the playoffs?? When the GOAT QB was still active...stay with us sb.

The chances of that 6th making a difference to our team are slim. So we helped kc on their path to more domination rather than making it harder. There was a time when teams wouldn’t trade to the same conference, especially to the dominant team if I’m not mistaken. Guess things have changed…

I bet he’s got no ragrets!

Edit: could you imagine if TFB took a final team friendly deal the last year here with no “no franchising” tag and he was traded like this?

Basically we borderline released him but either way there was no real point in keeping him. He signed a "prove it" deal and wasn't proving it. You can only wait for a guy to realize his potential for so long before you need to cut bait. Would it surprise me if he turns into a 8-10 sack a year guy? No. Uche is now on one of the NFL's elite teams with a good defense and one of the best defensive players in the league will likely allow for him to be a situational pass rusher on a team that is generally ahead on the scoreboard and knows the opponent will be passing. On a rebuilding team severely lacking talent he was always going to be asked to do more than he was capable of and he has shown over and over again he isn't well rounded enough to be an every down player. We could have let him walk for nothing at the end of the year or traded him for next to nothing.

You mean with a no "no trade clause". Yeah that wouldn't be too smart.

Yea that’s it! Can always count on the more knowledgeable here!
It's all good. We all get stuff mixed up sometimes or can't remember something. The good news is someone else here can help find the answer.
