Gimme a top 3 of Douglas, Boutte, and a FA signing (Higgins?) or high 1st rounder (Hunter?) in 2025 and it's a solid group.I think Boutte might be the real deal. He's in position to make the plays when we need him to be there and is catching more than Polk or Bourne.
He also stripped the ball from Wilson on the second to last play when a catch would've brought the Jets to within 10 yds of kicking a FGJones had good coverage and his hands on the ball in every catch he gave up. Kudos to the Jets WR. They make contested catches. Right now our team does not.
Was helmet to helmet mid-slide:
Last Christmas would have worked for me….Can we just avoid the Christmas Rush and get rid of Thornton now?
I don’t agree that was blatant. Was already in the process of committing into the tackle just as Maye gave himself up on the lean. I don’t envy the tackler in those aituations It was a 50/50 play imo, but definitely a penalty regardless just because of the times. 15 years ago he’s speared helmet to helmet with a roughing the passer. 30 years ago it would be a good honest tackle with players, fans celebrating with announcers admiring the play with 6 or 7 replays.Brutally blatant
you have high standards ... he at least caught two of his three throws .. unlike "best hands in the league" guyLast Christmas would have worked for me….
Would of worked for George Michael too.Last Christmas would have worked for me….
Hunter
I honestly can't figure out why they gave that new contract to Bourne. I don't think they should have given him a deal, but if they felt they had to, it should have been a one-year deal.Gimme a top 3 of Douglas, Boutte, and a FA signing (Higgins?) or high 1st rounder (Hunter?) in 2025 and it's a solid group.
If either of Polk or Baker doesn't bust then they can challenge that group or at least become decent injury insurance.
I wonder if injuries have taken a toll on Bourne, or if his rhythm is just off from seeing so little action the last few years.
It'll be interesting to see if Thornton is inactive the rest of the way. Might have played his last snap as a Patriot.
I wouldn’t consider 4 receptions thus far for the entire season to be setting the bar too high…you have high standards ... he at least caught two his three throws .. unlike "best hands in the league" guy
Hindsight is trying to figure it out as well. It’s also working on Uche who reportedly took less to stay on a discount, yet they are allegedly shopping him for a 5th. Go figure.I honestly can't figure out why they gave that new contract to Bourne. I don't think they should have given him a deal, but if they felt they had to, it should have been a one-year deal.
Concussion. Didn’t look like a nasty play but who knows?
Until I actually do some homework, know where we are picking and what else us actually available Hunter's all I want and we can fix the Oline in free agency or trade back into the first or whatever else.Dude, I know we need a LT like 3 years ago but he would be hard to pass up regardless.
Enjoy the tears:
Does he? Jets took the lead before Brissett replaced Maye. Brissett was at QB when Pats took the lead in Q4.Maye gets his first official W’
