We have to get the LT first and protect the franchise.
There won’t necessarily be a LT with a grade that high at that pick. So it would make more sense to get the top WR (the other big need on offense) and try to shore things up on the line later/elsewhere. As things look now, Wallace hopefully will come back and become a solid RT, and Lowe has been a decent LT when healthy. Jacobs as the swing tackle. Guard should be OK between Strange, Onwenu, Robinson, Sow and Jordan. Center will have Brown and hopefully Andrews. So you can hopefully fortify tackle with another mid rounder and maybe a free agent. I know Cam Robinson is due to hit the market, and a couple other guys, that might be a possibility.

Yeah, no idea what this take means. Dude had an open hole and ran through it, and even slid down to avoid a hit. Jets player decided to hit him anyway. Really has nothing to do with the OL, that can happen to any QB any time they run and slide.
I was watching radio so didn’t see the play. Did he run on a designed QB draw, or was he scrambling because the OL crumbled and he had to run out of necessity because there wasn’t time to throw?

Let’s hope so.

We’ve already seen enough to know he’s ready, as soon as he has an adequate supporting cast around him.

All the threads discussing trade deadline strategy are saying sell everything, this season is lost.

So why risk Drake becoming the next Tua?

Football players play, period. He will be back when his is cleared.

To give you an idea of how the referees were today, Maye was concussed with a blatant helmet to helmet hit after an 18 yard run. No call.
Hate to take a contrary view on this one but...he was no longer a QB until he slides, and he didn't slide thereby exposing himself to a big hit. He was just a runner at that point, same as Rham would have been and he needs to learn self-preservation. Perhaps watch film of Tua getting concussed repeatedly until he gets it.

Are you past the first down marker and is there a defender within five yards of you? SLIDE NOW!

Can’t believe parents actually raise Jets fans knowing full well the ineptitude of the organization and what mental problems arise from such decisions.

The cycle of abuse needs to end, that's why all Jete fans should be neutered

I’m optimistic that he will be back next week also, but we’ll see. Definitely need to get these guys working on catching. You’d think for how much they talk, they’d be able to perform their main responsibility.
Why bring him back?

Everybody on this board is posting calls to sell every player not named Drake before the trade deadline because the season is lost.

If it’s that bleak why put Maye back on the field to chance another freak injury in a meaningless game?

Look, it's fair play. One of the Pats wins was against the Jets. One of the Jet's wins was against the Pats.

Two bad teams exchanging blows.

Makes sense.

Sounds as good as OL strategies past couple of years. And we’ve seen how those worked out.

Anybody have comments about Mayo’s level of in-game involvement?

The London post-game thread roasted him as a spectator. So….. is he learning, adapting, improving?
Actually, following the logic of the board, shouldn't we now sign Mayo to a five-year guaranteed contract after todays' victory along with Covington? You're only as good as your last game here, sometimes your last play.

There’s something hilarious about Geno Smith and Sam Darnold both looking great this season elsewhere while the Jets trade for a literal HOF QB and build a super team around him and somehow still ruin him regardless at age 40
Anyone who was watching Aaron over the last few years could see he was not as good as before and he wasn't all that before neither. He's benefited from a stream of praise mainly by people who couldn't stand Tom Brady and how much better of a QB he was so over-compensated by praising Aaron. Aaron never even won the SBs he won, his defense did.

The Ref's got that call totally wrong! They usually always call a hit to the head on a QB, especially considering he was sliding down. He wasn't trying to "Josh Allen" and hurdle over a defender.

No, they didn't and it didn't matter a whit that he was a QB when he's a runner past the line of scrimmage, unless he gives himself up by sliding. That's also true for other players.

How many calls have their been this year for hits to the head of a runner with the ball unless he was defenseless? How many calls have their been for a runner who lowers his head and hits a tackler? In all the Pats games I've watched, I can't think of any. This is one of those "points of emphasis" that disappears after the pre-season like usual.

Just watched the replay after work. Without seeing any analysis what stands out is I dont think that was a Jets TD in the first quarter. Also Gonzo had a bad interference call and there was another critical phantom call early I cant remember on the o-line I believe. Another observation is I think Brissett is more clutch than we give him credit for. He showed flashes in other games. We need these damn receivers to catch the ball! Get a stud receiver and the other guys will do better without the pressure.EDIT: forgot to mention I wish they didn't lay down before half time. They coulda tried at least for a FG.

Brissett is trash. He can cry about it all he wants but that's the truth.
