Pats front office at the deadline

I don't agree. I think that Uche, Osborn, and Thornton have value.

They can't trade Okorafor's rights because of the Exempt list he's on.
Uche might be worth a mid-round pick in a draft swap (like a 4 for Uche and one of the Pats’ three 7s). The other two are worth late round picks at best.

Uche's not worth a bucket of spit.
The best you'd get is Uche and a 7th for a 6th. And I would take that, to be honest.

Stop overrating Patriots players when it comes on to trades DB. We would get nothing more than a 7th for any of those players. And based on where Thornton and Uche were drafted that would be horrible returns.

This is equivalent to bears hoping they can get our 3rd pick for fields.

We have no idea what FA’s and draft picks the Pats are going to sign between now and game 1 2025. We know Uche is valuable when he has someone on the other side like Judon. It would be a bummer if we got a player like that and we wished we still had Uche. I think Uche has value in that regard. On the other hand…there are players on the roster who have yet to show any value. I’d keep Uche at least until preseason next year.

Not concerned that no moves have been made, or that no moves will be made before the 11/5 deadline

we shouldn't be buyers at all... there is no one player that we could bring in that would make a difference... and if there is such a player the cost would be astronomical in both picks and money because if they are available, there will be more than one team interested... Given that we are now in the pole position in the draft our picks have become more valuable... why waste the picks on short term rentals when we are sitting at 1-6... we need to keep the picks... we can either build thru the draft, or make trades after the season... that way we get a better return...

we have a lot of guys who have some limited trade value... uche, bourne, osborn are looked at depth pieces, and teams that are ramping up for a post season run will be looking to fill out their rosters where depth is lacking... I would add just about every player who's deal is up after this season could be trade bait... most of them arent going to be in the future plans of the team... if you can move a few of them, cool, might pick up an extra 5th or 6th round pick... is it worth it? well it would probably solidify our hold on the number 1 overall... tanking in a respectable manner?

eh, the way I look at it, there is limited value in the return though... Wolf hasn't yet shown himself to be a shrewd operator when it comes to draft picks... I don't have a lot of faith in his ability to take those picks and work them into a draft better position... might as run them out there for the rest of the season in a rotation while rookies and fringe players get some game time to build experience...
I feel that if an opportunity presented, itself that we couldn't turn away then pursue it. But if not just stay the course with what we have and just try to get by.. basically every skill position on the roster needs to be upgraded. We already know about the offensive line. Go figure we finally get good QB play back in Foxboro again and now everything else is the problem.

Agreed. The thing is wich uche he's on a 1 year deal I believe?. I felt like he could have a had big opportunity this season.. but with judon being traded, of course the absences of Barmore and Bentley then ximmimes going down really but a damper on the depth. Uche is the only real pure pass rusher we have. I just want to see the young and unproven guys all get a chance to grow along with Drake this season.

Uche is not good. No power, still runs by the QB and doesn't hold the edge, doesn't play the run. I expected great things from him when drafted. He never improved.

He had the 2022 season 11 sacks.. I believe that's what he can be in a fucntio defense.. right now he's got an opportunity to make plays and make $$$ but he's invisible most games.

You aren't going to upgrade the roster at this point of the year... You are going to get what, a one year rental? What do you have in place to keep him here afterwards? We've seen money isn't enough... What impact will they really have? Top flight starters aren't going to be shopped unless they are being salary dumped or are injured...

That 11 sack season had one game where he got about 4 by just running around a totally incompetent tackle.

Right. I can't think of any top flight players that are available now. I don't even know going into FA who's going to be out there that will come and help this team.

Realistically they should be sellers, which sucks cause they suck and losing good players would only make them worse but gotta build for the future and reload hard in the offseason.

Uche had 10 sacks in 5 games 2 years ago.
Since then he has played 26 games and has 6.5 sacks.
It was a fluke.

(Before that he played 27 games and had 4 sacks)

So outside of a month he had 10.5 sacks in 53 games which is more than 3 full seasons.
And he can’t stop a nose bleed against the run.

He didn’t sign here for nothing because he wanted to be here, he signed here for nothing because no one else wanted him.

He had 10 in 5 games. The entire rest of his career (53 games) he has been a poor pass rusher.
