If matters continue more or less as they are, should the Krafts fire Mayo at season's end?

But you left out the last sentence when he said it starts with me, he's saying he didn't coach them well enough to execute.
you are really naive! He only says that to somewhat cover the fact that he is consistently throwing his player under the bus.

He said again the other day : « it’s not about X’s and O’s, it’s about execution ». That’s all he has been regurgitating for 6 weeks! It’s about execution ! But he add the « but it’s start with me » to camouflage the all thing.

He always say something in the post game presser and always try to undo what he said the next morning!

I never saw him once taking over for something never saw him once take the defense on the sidelines and coach them!

And now the only option and hope he has is to somehow win a game because winning solve everything!

He is a mess and he is completely unfit to be the HC of this team!

What a joke !

Ever heard of a breakup conversation that starts with "It's not you, it's me" and then proceeds to contradict that empty preface for the rest of the conversation?

A coach who can’t overcome injuries in the NFL is in fact a terrible coach.
It's not absolute and also depends what you mean by overcome. Is Bill a terrible coach because his team missed the playoffs in 2008 sans Brady?

If your depth sucks that's not something that can be coached up very often. The saying about putting lipstick on a pig...

Mayo makes Nathaniel Hackett look competent.

Kraft screwed up the hire but he is a shrewd businessman and would know when to cut losses.

If the team does not show improvement in next 10 games maye should be canned

I don’t often agree with Bedard but he is 100% correct that time

That was eye opening.

As for right now.... Maybe. Let's say they fire him and get someone else in there. This will be a hard group to make buy in at this point in anything. The season is a lost cause. Let's say we pick a candidate and it is someone they and we actually like. At best you still go only 3-7 the rest of the way most likely and that stink rolls into next year when your trying to get a fresh start and convince them this team will be different and to play unselfishly.

Won't that just make things harder for them? Also if it's just another place holder, what's the point. I say just ride it out. So you can start completely fresh next year.

Everyone is seeing that Mayo is not engaged. He is just present, planted like a lawn sign on the sidelines.

And that is the crux of it all: Mayo lacks the in-depth Xs-Os strategic/tactical knowledge to be an NFL head coach. At his introductory press conference it was all about diversity/inclusion and being a motivational mentor to help young men and young women succeed in life. That's guidance counseling, not football. He offered nothing re. his offensive/defensive philosophy and I had the sense right there and then this team was in trouble.

This is beyond the pale. I will not stand idly by while my artistry is denigrated by an unwashed rube.

While you artistry is besmirched. See what I did there?

My main issue with Mayo is that he was supposed to be the culture guy and a “leader of men” and all that ********. Instead we now have multiple veterans on the team calling out younger guys for not doing what they need to do. We also have nearly an entire receiver room of dipshits and malcontents. KJ Osborn of all people is posting nonsense on Instagram after the game about the monumental hurdles he overcame when he was active on Sunday after not being expected to suit up. Jalynn Polk doubling down on yet another stupid comment then going out and dropping multiple passes. Demario Douglas was all pissy the first month of the year. And Mayo hasn’t done anything to curb this crap. Polk should have been a healthy scratch to send a message and KJ Osborn should have been cut or traded as soon as the plane touched down in the states this week.

I don’t know what they expected to happen. Mayo was a position coach for 5 years and never called plays. So they decided to pair him up with a first time DC and a first time play caller and 8th choice with Alex Van Pelt at OC. Then add in a first time GM who didn’t even get to hire Mayo. The Krafts have really bungled this whole thing. Allegedly Wolf and Mayo both report to Johnathan Kraft and Robyn Glaser who up until this year wasn’t even on the football side of things as she was a business and compliance officer or something. The org structure is a mess and there was potentially some friction with Mayo against Van Pelt and Wolf on the timeline for Drake Maye starting.

Which is why I think there is a strong possibility that Wolf is letting the minions spread the word that Mayo may not be safe.

You didn't mention the off-field stuff: Baker, Barmore and Peppers having run-ins with the law; also, reports of players out partying late in London and playing hungover, etc.
