Oh the local media friends couldnt stop about how it was the toughest camp ever and running the hill made them conditioned and mayo even announced after the came that they are running team until someone stops and then we have something else.
IF the media wasnt so biased for him , they would ask him this question. At least in that regard mayo has played it well - gotten the local media on his side.
The BSM hates Bill Belichick even more than sb1. That's the answer.

He surely hasn't proven that he can turn chicken s**t into chicken salad. Can you honestly say that he can be as good as a Mike Tomlin?

But they won... it's been downhill since collaboration.

Now it's toilet level bottom... doormat.
Something stinks .

Mayo is so out of his depth it’s unreal. He’s made so many different mistakes in so many areas it’s hard to know where to start. He had no vision for the team or a plan to hire his coordinators. He basically admitted he knew nothing about offence or special teams. He puts his foot in it with the media every other press conference. His new kinder culture went out the window at the first sign of trouble. He has fashioned a culture of zero accountability, with him taking pot shots at his players and them at each other. He doesn’t have his team ready to play - every week there is poor coaching, poor game day decision making and a lack of discipline. He looks completely lost on the sidelines as if he doesn’t have any say in the game plans. He made it sounds like it wasn’t even his decision on whether to start Maye a few weeks ago. He’s a passenger of a head coach so far.

I wasn’t against moving on from Belichick but Kraft anointing Mayo with his resume and without a proper search reeks of arrogance. He needs to show dramatic improvement as a coach over the next 10 games

If your goal is to win a sb, you’re going to have to go thru KC, Baltimore or down the road maybe the chargers. They have experienced coaches.

Is an inexperienced coach with an inexperienced qb going to match up against the harbaughs and Reid’s of the world?

Certainly this has been discussed here, but given Mayo's early remarks about burning cash, then proceeding to go into the season with 50m of cap space. What exactly happened?

I would be ok if we overexpend for talent (given this season, we might not even have a choice anymore), but if we did indeed lost some FAs for a couple of millions... I wonder who hit the breaks.

Makes absolutely no sense to carry this much money for this year. It's good only for Kraft (and even that's debatable, since a stinker of a season must be awful for business)

Hopefully we are aggressive next off-season. Either go after some big names, or spread it around to fill as many holes and brew competition, whatever. We can't keep "saving money"
They never said it (the only thing they didn’t say), but they clearly had no interest in signing older bridge starter free agents. I think that’s one big disconnect between reality and people’s expectations. Obviously the exception here is Brissett, where they specifically wanted a veteran in the room with their rookie. Nobody else they added is over 30.

Once they made their moves and missed on their other guys in that 26-29 age range, they stood pat instead of trying to fill holes with older guys. It would have saved people a lot of angst if they had just hinted at some point that they were going to roll money over instead of spending it on Tyron Smith, Odell Beckham, Stephon Gilmore, Justin Simmons, etc.

Preseason: kinder, gentler, approach with emphasis on diversity and inclusion. Turning the page from BB's hard-ass rule.

In-season: startling losing streak and the players are "soft."

What happened?

RK is a shrewd businessman loyalty smoyalty: I think if it continues to go south Mayo is gone on Black Monday 25. They're some good Offensive minds that can be added: I love the 2025 impending Coaching pool cut your losses RK. Mayo is in over his head sinking ship.
I hope you are right

Mayo is terrible???

After all, he should have been able to deal with the losses of Barmore, Judon and Bentley.

Mayo should have gotten a coach who would have made our OL average. Of course, no one who was that good would have been likely to come.
================
Mayo may be great, OK or terrible. Time will tell.

Are Lowe, Jacobs, Sow, Jordan, Brown, Thomas, Wallace and Robinson really good NFL OL's?

After all, we certainly should expect that coaching should be able to succeed. It shouldn't take talented player.
==========
TO BE CLEAR
Brown, Jordan, and Jacobs are playing better than any of us had any right to expect. Brown may be a very pleasant addition.

Regardless of injuries a coach needs to be able to get a team to play efficiently and hard. I don’t think it’s reasonable to judge Mayo on wins and losses given that he inherited one of the worst team’s in football, I do think it’s reasonable to judge him on sloppy football and a team that clearly isn’t giving it all they have. And Mayo’s unwillingness to take accountability, and his prediliction to throw players under the bus is really disappointing, and a sure fire way to lose the locker room. I honestly don’t care if they end up with a ****ty record, I expected that, but I definitely care about how hard they play, and right now they look like a team that doesn’t really care, and the players are echoing that. Regardless of how much Kraft likes Mayo he should fire him if he can’t get them to play like it means something to them. Other than the Cincinnati and Miami games they haven’t played as hard as they should be playing.

But they won... it's been downhill since collaboration.

They won because Brady & the last of the pre-Covid Second Dynasty hadn’t yet aged-out or depahted, and certainly Not because of any draft acumen from Bill.

Still throws his player under the bus a lot !

Again today !

« Even when we are in the right calls they are not doing their jobs! »

Mayo is a bad bad HC
But you left out the last sentence when he said it starts with me, he's saying he didn't coach them well enough to execute.

BB assembled that entire team... and oh yeah, his defense held one of the highest scoring offenses of the last decade to 3 points in the SB.

When you say something stupid, make sure you do it so that everyone can see you... do it spectacularly.

What has Mayo done well?

A coach who can’t overcome injuries in the NFL is in fact a terrible coach.
