I’ll admit this version of the team is really really bad. Severely lacking talent all over the football field, no coach can fix that. However, don’t you think teams like Buffalo, Minnesota or Detroit would trade their current competitive teams for just ONE of the Pats SB championships?? This fanbase is so spoiled it’s not even funny. They had historic success for 20 years, could be 10 years of wandering the football desert that follows. Again, I’m on board that the team is terrible and needs vast improvements almost everywhere, but let’s have some perspective here
You’re right. I feel so much better now. Thanks Dad!

Fields could at least run, maybe helped win a few games.
I live in Pittsburgh, so I follow the Steelers too. The fanbase acts like he’s Lamar pt 2 or on Kenny Pickett’s level. Fields is given the most conservative playbook known to man by Tomlin. He’d struggle mightily with NE’s offense and non-existent weapons

DEI causes craziness. I work in a Fortune 50 company that’s male dominated. So hiring a female as a manager when she would never sniff the position if she were a white male is almost commonplace.

RK was wearing his rose colored glasses. Facts were unimportant.
It’s not DEI. Mayo kissed up to Robert and developed a relationship with him the past few years and thus got the job. I don’t blame him for doing so but it looks like a poor decision which was made on a personal level.

This is way worse than 1990 when they went 1-15. That team had some good players like Irving Fryar, Vincent Brown, Andre Tippett, Maurice Hurst, and Ronnie Lippett. Plus, their coach- as much as he sucked as a HC, had a lot of success as a DC.

I felt way more confident then that things were eventually going to turn around.

This team really only has a few players that I'm interested in building around: Maye, Douglas, Jennings, Gonzales, Marcus Jones, (maybe) Barmore if he gets healthy, (maybe) White if he grows up, (maybe) Mapu, and their punter and kicker.

First of all, we need a whole new GM and scouting team.
We need a new OC.
We need a new DC.
We need a new HC for sure.
We need a whole new RB group. BTW our running backs absolutely suck and Wolfe has mostly got a pass for this, which I don't understand. RBs are much easier to find then tackles, for example.4
We need a whole new WR group. BTW, why hasn't Baker been given an opportunity? You have nothing to lose at this point.
We need a backup QB.
We need new tackles and a new Center.
We need basically a new D line.
We need new linebackers outside of Jennings. BTW where has Uche been? Missing person alert.
We need help at safety.

Honestly if you could do a Herschell Walker or Ricky Williams type of deal by moving Maye I think you have to consider it. That's how bad things are.
Boutte Henry Ramondre Dugger the only others imho
Good post anyway

I don’t know who this 98.5 guy McCarthy is but he’s 100% right. AVP is the least of the Pats problems and he’s done a lot by developing Drake Maye. Playcalling is nowhere near the biggest problem (it usually isn’t unless we’re playing Madden). Biggest problem is the roster.

Kraft needs to speak, we need to hear from the architect of this disaster.
He already spoke on the Breakfast club where we learned that he "kept the band together", fired Bill in a "classy way" and "he loves Brady like a son" despite always underpaying him and running him out of town. Did I also mention he's the cheapest prick owner in the NFL and thats why this team blows? Also, as I heard some football talking head eloquently put it, he entrusted a multi billion dollar corporation to Alex Van Pelt and Jerrod Mayo, neither of whom have the necessary qualifications for their jobs. So obviously his judgement stinks. What a mess.

No chance in hell Kraft will fire Mayo during or after this season, regardless if we don't win another game this season.

That would be admitting he made a major mistake with Mayo.

Mayo will be HC this year and next, at least.
Maybe Mayo was always a placeholder for someone Kraft may be waiting on to become available...

I wish, but Kraft has said that he chose mayo to be the successor a few years ago. Which in and of itself is ridiculous.

Do the right thing and clean house top to bottom please.
Can Massachusetts get rid of the 5% millionaires’ tax, too? This team is having to roll rocks uphill because of it. Not to say other teams like those in California and New York aren’t dealing with similar comparative disadvantages.

Jennings made some plays. He should play 3 downs. Uche is non competitive.
Uche is exactly what he was as a senior in college. Third down designated pass rusher. That’s all he’s good for.

Playcalling is a bigger problem.

Now, we really needed a real #1 WR on the field today, but we went away from attacking them downfield like every other team does.

When we threw, we were successful. But we only threw the ball downfield on half of our drives. We didn't even try on the 4 drives in between.

RK wanted to look nice to his progressive billionaire friends. A white coach sucking up to him wouldn’t have mattered. Don’t you see that?
