It happened at/near the goal line. Steratore specifically said it was within the 5 yards.
Hooper's fumble was something we've probably never seen before so I think it qualifies as ridiculous - when have you ever seen a player palm the football and press it into the ground to get back on his feet again? At first I thought for sure that must mean he's down cause I've never seen it before.
And the missed facemask was inexcusable.
All those plays were extremely consequential.
And most of Houston's running yards were after all that when the game was out of reach.
No it was in the end zone, if steratore said that he is wrong.

A fumble is a fumble.

We can cry about refs calls, but they aren’t why we got blown out.
We were bad against the run all day. If you don’t want to let up extra running yards because you got blown out, don’t get blown out.

I agree with you. To me it is just like when people used to complain about teams running up the score. If you don't want it to happen then stop it. There may be reasons that you have the cards stacked against you (ref call), but that happens to everyone at some point and it is your responsibility to overcome it.

Holes in the zones do seem extra big this season.
They've gotten larger since we've had Tavai instead of Bentley dropping and the loss of Peppers to apparent (sorry, alleged) stupidity. Tavai is a good run support LB; he is horrible in coverage - so last year he came out in middle and long down/distance - this year he's in a lot more. And while Hawkins has been okay; he's not as instinctual to the ball as Peppers.

Taken in that context the entire back end "looks" worse because in zone it's about the unit NOT the individual. (BTW going more man will just be more picking on Tavai and Hawkins as lesser coverage (and to some extent Dugger although Mapu on TEs seemingly is showing positive) guys - it doesn't "solve" the problem).

I mean they went after some heavy hitters free agents. Sounds like a lot of them didn't want to come to the Pats. That should hopefully change if Maye continues on this trajectory
Who?
They were outbid for Ridley and said they wanted to try and trade for Aiyuk who said Pittsburgh was the only place he would go.
Who are the heavy hitters (a lot of them) that you are referring to?

They only went after Ridley who isn’t exactly an elite WR.

lol @archstanton543 Aiyuk was not a free agent and you hit the “disagree”.

Let’s do better.

Who was the better WR on the market than Ridley, wasn't exactly an amazing free agent class from what I can remember

You said there are a lot of heavy hitters they went after would wouldn’t come here

People can harp on the coaching all they want if they don't have the players it will never change. Can't grow talent. Barmore, Bentley, peppers, all great against the run. Loosing those guys hurt the defense big time. I don't expect much from them.
Bill knew how to grow talent
