Mayo seemingly blaming Bill for the state of the roster

I think his answer was to not throw anyone under the bus but came out giving everyone to put their own interpretation on it. He has to learn how to answer questions not doing that, he's young and new and learning.
Rubbish. Hes a grown ass man. He knows exactly what hes saying.

This isn’t a real quote. Let’s all just agree to mute this Twitter account so nobody falls for it again.
Got faked out here. Should have known this was not real as it would have been out of character for Bill to criticize in this manner

Meh. I could see someone saying it more as a dog on the reporter, kinda like a "nice try."

But whatever. **** both Mayo and Bill, I just want whatever will give us a good Sunday each week from the months September to February.

I agree, the choices are blame himself and the coaching, blame BB, blame Wolf or blame the players not executing. There is no benefit casting doubt on any of these parties, even if they all have a hand in the current situation. Mayo needs to recognize these dangerous questions and stop creating media driven controversy.
What's the controversy? I thought he avoided the obvious answer. Was there more to Mayo's answer than what I read here?

Meh. WTH does anyone expect Mayo to answer to that? He hardly threw anyone under the bus. The guy got asked the equivalent of 'When did you stop beating your wife?' It's an ahole question designed to stir crap up and he sidestepped by putting it back on questioner. I'd say he handled it as well as could be expected.

Too many folks here just want to piss all over the guy. How about we at least give him a first class trial then follow it with a proper hanging?
I knew the Billdos would be coming out of the woodwork this year but the nitpicking at every word is pretty annoying.

Maybe Mayo can use the Belichick method of throwing shade onto his QB, like he did with the deflated footballs. Bill had no problem giving that question a quick answer, without any grunts or snorts, when he said to see Tom.

Edit: I was wrong. Mayo didn't say anything so they're whining about what he didn't say and what he meant with his non-answer. I need to get some popcorn

The way he said "you tell me, I'm not going there" sounds like he is pointing fingers without naming names. At a minimum it is a passive/aggressive response that indicates a lack of accountability for himself. That is all the press needs to make a controversy. To me it is more of a Mayo moment with the press that he needs to learn to avoid.

The title of this thread is such ******** that the mods should change it.

The MEDIA is the one implying the state of the roster is Belichick’s fault and Mayo is wisely avoiding the issue (even though they’re right).
Mayo takes a question, doesn't answer it and now the Billdos are crying about the words he didn't say. It's kind of funny to see it happening.

I didn't include 2nd rounders because there are too many bad picks to mention.
I've actually been working on the AFCE drafts back to 2000 to get a value of each pick in each round and at each position. One thing that stood out is how many more picks the Pats had than the other AFCE teams. I usually support that approach to drafting.

In this case I think people are making a mountain out of a molehill.

The only thing I don't like is that he basically agreed with the premise that the roster is bad. Even if true, that is a bad message to the players from the coach they are supposed to trust.

Agree. It's a pretty solid philosophy. The more chips you put on the numbers the better chances you have of winning.

I don't understand why observing and disliking Mayo's words and actions equates being labeled "Billdo."

I 100% felt it was time for Bill to go and I 100% feel everything was wrong with Mayo's climb up the ladder. It goes all the way back to when he retired as a player and constantly asked his billionaire former boss out to dinner (per Kraft himself). They formed a cute bond and the nickname Thunder was born. That's red flags galore already and that was only the very beginning. Every week, every time someone puts a mic in front of him it's just more red flags.

As men of a certain age we came up expecting, more often than not, where there's smoke there's fire was a fairly true axiom. Not so anymore my man. In the digital age more often than not when you see smoke there's a smoke machine under it and whoever started it up is not held accountable for the false alarms it raised. In fact they're rewarded for it. What an age to be alive!

Grown ass man say stupid things all the time.
Just look at the posts on this message board. Large percentage of grown ass men and constantly writing stupid things all the time.

Because someone several years ago decided it was BB vs Brady and there's been division ever since. Doesn't matter that most people recognize it was BB and Brady because there's enough people to carry the versus debate for the rest of time.

Mayo did not say it or imply it, but truth of matter is bill bears a great deal of blame for the mess we are in. Bill was a goat coach and great GM till 2010s. Cometh 2012 and beyond GM powers began to wane, cometh 2017 - GM powers began to fall off a cliff.
2020 and beyond - everything stunk including coaching and org management.

For a team picking in mid 15s last 4 years , not a single pro bowler yet .

We should compare first 2 rounds against chiefs, ravens, Steelers, packers, bills, eagles, bucs just to see how the performance has been. These teams have eternally reached playoffs and drafted late. For pats, just 2023 draft looking decent for now. All others are meh and 2022 draft is 2019 redux

As do I… But ya still gotta make good picks whenever you do make them.
