Kraft regrets giving Belichick so much power without “checks and balances” in place.

The question that fascinates me is how long was Bill going to wait until he put Brady in if Drew didn't get hurt in 2001. It's entirely possible that Drew would have stayed in for too many games for Brady to bring them back and they would have missed the playoffs. I know a lot of fans want to claim that Bill was going to make the move anyway but how can we know that. Bill was under the gun with Drew's contract and Brady was still pretty raw.
A few years ago, Charlie Weis was asked that question and he gave a very diplomatic answer.

He said while Drew was not playing well at the start of the season and Tommy was very deserving of playing time, because Bill had a tremendous amount of respect for Drew, he believes he was going to continue to start the next few games.

It's a calculated answer but I believe Charlie isn't shy about saying what is on his mind. Hes not saying what Bill was going to do. Hes respecting Drew and hes saying Tom was deserving.

You know that Patriot place was built non union? Most of it anyways. In a state like Massachusetts, where democrats and union are as sacred as thanksgiving and football? …
I never knew that. How about the casino in Everett? One of our sons was there only at the beginning and his company was non-union.

I remember seeing Kraft in an interview prior to PP and he was gushing about it like it was going to be one of the greatest wonders of the world. Instead it's really just a big mall.

It definitely ended up right for the Pats. If Drew doesn't get hurt it would have been real tough for Bill to take him out.

Yea who knows. My gut tells me IF IF Drew stayed healthy and were 0-4 Tom would come in. Both Bill and Charlie said the only reason Tom wasn't playing was lack of experience and I believe them.

At 0-4 Bill would have nothing to lose.

If you have ever been laid off, you'd know that these severance packages have legal mumbo jumbo stating that if you ever say anything bad about the company, you will have to pay back your severance pay. Though I seriously doubt they could get it back once paid, if they haven't fully paid you, they could easily stop. If Bill hasn't gotten fully paid what's coming to him, he is in no position to say anything negative about the Patriots. It's probably also why he's not coaching anywhere this year.
Maybe. Or maybe he’s just how men are supposed to behave. He never once threw someone under the bus in all the years coaching here. Had a spat with the Jets owner, not much said. Proved it on the field. Have something to say? Say it to their face. You don’t need the *****y media sending out the wrong info. I loved and admired how Bill was always stoic. That’s a character strength not seen much today. Some fans like the chaos. I’m sure they had plenty of it down at 1 Patriot Place. I for one was glad it was kept in house. We all got beefs, everyone. Handle them like men. Kraft is looking *****y …

Belichick is just like Brady, he hates to lose, and the only time I saw him lose on purpose was when he had Brady chuck it into the stands against Miami so they could meet Jacksonville in the first round of the playoffs, so that was strategic. I don’t believe he would ever tarnish his legacy by losing on purpose. I agree that he hates Kraft, I just don’t believe he would deliberately tarnish his own legacy to get at him.
You are probly right. I don’t think we will ever know

John Kerry married rich widows twice. Does that make him double chick?
Seen his yacht ?? Yup he’s a ***** alright, kept it down here in Rhode Island I believe so he wouldn’t pay taxes up north if I’m correct ? Plus look at the dudes hair , that alone isn’t fair !!!

Big mall .. haha ya. I know my union brothers were on that job. Don’t believe it was done all union. I was out of state when that was going on.

Us schleps in the real word don’t get severence packages. Unemployment if you lucky for 6 months, of which you actually pay into.

I think Bill also said that didn’t he? Was worried about the uproar if he actually did pull the trigger, somehow the Gods heard Bills prayers I guess lol

Krafts are starting to look real bad with comments like these plus the documentary.... just shut up and show some respect/appreciation. If anything its counterproductive by turning fans against him

We've been extraordinarily lucky to have had Brady and Bill to talk for the team for so long. Most teams have owners like this, where fans wish they would talk less.

I don't recall BB saying that but he certainly might have.

Bill did say Tom outplayed Drew in the 01 camp and preseason and also said Tom's understanding of the scheme, recognition and situational football was advanced for his amount of NFL experience.

I think Charlie's comments make sense. I also think if they were 0-4 or 0-5 he would probably realize he was on a serious hot seat and had to do something.

Bill is getting in before him and it's driving him crazy.

Hes blowing through 1/5ths of Buffalo Trace Kosher whisky like no tomorrow.
Why shouldn’t BB get in before Kraft?

BB actually had something to do with winning SBs. Sorry Bob, we could have done it without you.

In fact, if you actually had stood up for your HOF QB and HC, like a true HOF owner would do, the Pats may have won 2-3 more.

YOU were actually a detriment to winning SBs.

I'm saying BB should and also saying Kraft has an issue with it because hes an insecure little man

I have continually asked a simple question on this board and have never had an answer. What type of billionaire drives his Bentley to a FL strip mall for "massages"?
You’ve never had an answer because it is a nonsensical question. You seem woefully unaware that there is no shortage of perverse activities engaged in by the rich and famous. From billionaires to actors to musicians to athletes to presidents, there are countless examples of men doing things that could humiliate themselves, ruin their reputations, perhaps ruin their careers, and perhaps even end up in jail in pursuit of sexual gratification.

When one looks at the activities of Harvey Weinstein, Prince Andrew or Puff Daddy, all of a sudden a lonely old man receiving consensual gratification from a sex worker really isn’t a big deal.

Bill Belichick is not a 9 to 5er who got 6 weeks severance when he got fired. He was a contract worker and while we don’t know the details of his contract, the team has to pay it out and can not unilaterally attach any conditions or clauses.

I agree. No big deal - I couldn't care less. You might have missed the point of the question.

Why does a lonely old billionaire in a Bentley frequent a strip mall for consenual gratification when he might end up in a court of law? Might it make more sense to hire a sugar baby GF which is more convenient and avoids the possibility of illegal activity?

The reason to go to the strip mall is becasue it is much cheaper.

Kraft is looking more and more idiotic every time he opens his mouth

While there may be debate between Bill and Brady regarding who is more responsible for the dynasty, there is ZERO debate that Kraft is least responsible out of the three. His only contribution was not letting his ego F it up.

Hell, the debate regarding Kraft should be whether Pollard or Kraft has more to do with the Dynasty.

And now he hires Mayo who put kindly is lacking about a decade of coaching experience.

Kraft for HOF? ***** please.

He should be genuflecting to the alter of TB and BB instead of attacking Bill
