Kraft regrets giving Belichick so much power without “checks and balances” in place.

Kraft and a microphone have always been a bad combination, it's just worse now that he thinks of himself as a Hall of Fame owner just waiting for that ticket to be punched. Everything and I do mean everything Kraft does these days is with that objective in mind.

They had a great system of "checks and balances" when he was the only person in NFL history to think Bobby Grier was the best choice to run his franchise, and Grier allowed players to stampede up the stairway to undercut Pete Carroll. We saw two crap drafts in a row and big contracts handed to Bledsoe's buddies Todd Rucci and Max Lane. Pete went on to win 2 national championships and 1 Super Bowl (almost 2 as we well know) and Bobby went on to .... jack ****.
After firing Grier and Pete RKK was on record saying that it didn't work because there was not one throat to choke. Now that BB's time is up the story has changed. Despite all of his contributions to the NFL he is seriously damaging his HOF campaign with all of this.

This is correct. How does anyone think the HOF voters outside NE feel about the Patriots? My son-in-law is from Houston and is a Texans fan. He said if there is justice in the world, the Patriots would not be in a SB for 20+ years. That is how people outside NE see things. RK complaining about 2 to 4 years at the end of BB's career is trivial and insignificant to fans outside NE. It looks petty to them. RK's blindness to the way he is handling this situation plus his "massages" is only distancing his chances of getting into the HOF. A heavy does of humility would do RK a world of good.

We had Brady then. Brady walking was largely a result of the guy who had control and no “checks and balances” having friction with Brady.

Yeah. So. How many years are you going to keep repeating this. Will you ever get tired of being Mr. Obvious?

How about stop campaigning for yourself and start campaigns for Rodney and Vince. And even if they won't get in campaign for Willie Mac and Bruschi too. And whoever else I'm not thinking of.

Bill is getting in before him and it's driving him crazy.

Hes blowing through 1/5ths of Buffalo Trace Kosher whisky like no tomorrow.

Why Is Kraft on Breakfast Club? Has he always been this public (documentary aside)? I know he is friendly with Charlemagn but still weird.

Ever heard about the story of Foxcatcher, or seen the movie based off of that wrestling team? Kraft is kinda John DuPont but markedly less insane. Desperate for brotherhood/culture.

Also I'm just suggesting anyone to watch that movie. Wild story.

Yes RK is a heavy drinker. That is well known. Being hammered might explain his trips to the FL strip mall, but I doubt that.

Kraft wants to believe he is responsible for the two great decades. And - while I ‘get’ that some on this board are willing to play the ‘RK is the boss’ cards, I just don’t get it.

Kraft is a billionaire and hired the right guy to build this all up. They got lucky on an exceptional QB who played like no other had or has and they did a LOT winning.

RK is a loser who hired a winner (who in turn lucked out on another winner in the draft).
Plus didn’t he actually marry into money to start this whole charade ??

I will never forget Lisa Guerrero interviewing him on MNF in the owners box when he was absolutely hammered off gin & tonics.

The dysfunction was designed by the Krafts.

Internally they had coaches submarining the head man. No good could come of that. If the owner tells the DC he's firing the HC and replacing him with the DC in the middle of the season, and gameplans are being made while circumventing the HC, that is a high level of dysfinction RIGGED by the owner.

Not to mention foisting the most gutless QB in NFL history on the HC despite the HCs clear attempt to move on by signing a better QB.

This is par for the course from Kraft, what he's done since he jammed Guerrero into the locker room.
Too many egos at that level to not implode. It was a wonder it lasted

Accurate and once he does marry Myra Hiatt his relationship with his father in law get very complicated.

There was a Dave Portnoy interview years ago, which was later in the day, and RK could barely talk. There are repetitive instances of RK showing up hammered.

RK is the problem. If any one of the trio was corrupted and broken by the success.
It was Kraft most of all, we the fans get to pay that price by having a cheap, alcoholic, narcissistic boob as an owner.
God he even screwed up a trip to the washy wash, pathetic.

He married in but I don't think the Company was worth as much as he would take it too. At least that's how I've heard it before that he very much helped grow the business.
