I know that the draft is a crapshoot, but last year's draft was rather unbelievable other than the miss at kicker.

This year could produce Maye, Polk and maybe Robinson as contributors.

BB last year with Wolf and Co. This year Wolfe and Co. Only haters wouldn't say the past two drafts have produced some really good and hopefully really good players.

Other than QB, not at the most important positions the team needs.
You can't hit on every pick. If Mr. Happy matures, which he will I am sure, he is a force on the line. Gonzo is an incredibly important position and he is playing like a shut down corner. They hopefully got a QB and a solid number 2 in Polk.

Thats not too shabby. If they can hit on the 3rd year than thats even better.

2023 was an superb draft. It did not address the teams most glaring needs, i.e. offense, very well but it was a fantastic draft. 2024 does not look so hot, although we will know a lot better after Sunday.

The 2023 draft is why BB still isn't coaching here so I don't see how it's good.

That particular change might have had more to do with 2023's **** record and uninspired compete level than the draft.
Just sayin...

Talentwise, the Patriots did quite well in the draft. The problem is the positions they took on days one and two more so than the players themselves.

JFC, Do you need to start a Fkn thread whenever your Brain comes out of the Fkn TOILET?
You create threads for- you "Hooray"
"I feel so fabulous for this" AssClown...
If you think I'm new you better think again clown face......
Keep creating threads so you can see yourself you fkn CHUMP.
"Gotta create another thread"...gotta be up top... doesn't matter, I'm smarter... I'll create the best threads..they'll see!"

Embarrassing.. Bah

Belichick ran the Patriots from 2000-2023. Wolf ran the Patriots this year. Belichick owns every draft while he was in charge, Wolf owns this one. Ultimately responsibility for personnel decisions goes through one person, they either sign off on the decision or not, that’s how accountability works. Trying divine who said what to who about any personal decision, and pretending we know what the conversations were inside the building is pure fantasy. And people who pretend that they know who said what to who are simply making **** up to pretend that they know more than they actually know, and that they are smarter than they actually are.

What positions should they have taken?

The tackles in that draft have busted.

This year's draft is looking like a huge disappointment. You can't draft at the top of each round and end up with only a top QB and a 2nd WR.

In particular, the Polk, Wallace and Robinson picks look suspect. No idea why we drafted Milton but at least it was a 6th.

Robinson is a stretch. In the few games he played he was poor. Hopefully he can improve.

You forgot Douglas at WR? Second best separation in the NFL.

CB = Gonzo, EGDE = White, and WR = Douglas. Three of the top positional needs in any draft. Maybe you don't follow the Pats in the off season?

This is not true. RK owned the team from 2000 - 2024 and has said publicly that BB did not have complete oversight of the team for significant portions of his tenure.

You could make a good case for the N'Keal Harry draft pick as the reason BB is not coaching anymore. It was the idiotic draft pick, overruling his scouts by not picking Deebo, etc., that was the final straw for Brady. It was the worst draft pick in Patriots history since it caused the loss of Brady and a big wiff on a top WR

That was the beginning of the end, sure.

Are you sure you're not overstating things?

Let me offer a counter to this:

1. Harry was slotted in the composite drafts to go right where the Patriots picked him. He was not a reach.
2. There were 9 WRs drafted in the first 2 rounds. Only 2 remained with their teams. Only 3 were worth taking where they were taken. 5 of them outright busted.
3. As for Brady, we threw absolutely everything we could have at WR for him that year, besides our #1 draft pick, we brought in Antonio Brown, Demaryious Thomas, Mo Sanu (a panic move to appease Brady), Ben Watson, Josh Gordon.

AND, #4, which is such a painful FACT that most Patriot fans never mention it, as though they are in TOTAL DENIAL about Brady: before OTAs that year, before any of us knew what N'Keal Harry was, he showed up on the yacht of our arch-enemy rival with the intent of joining them after the season, if only Brian Flores would go along with the plan!!!!!!!

A miss on a WR is a miss and it happens a lot. What is worse is organizational dysfunction. The kind of thing that makes you NOT look to the future but instead expend picks in desperation to appease people (Mo Sanu), the kind of thing where you undermine your coaches by insisting a guy who dismisses the expertise of team coaches is reinstated in the locker room (Guerrero) despite the coach's wishes.

It was a cluster.... created from on high.
