These charges are bad, but why is the commissioner so quick to place him on the exempt list when this case hasn't played out in court. Didn't do that to others like Von Miller and Rashee Rice.
The exempt list is usually used like this. Same thing happened with Adrian Peterson back in 2014. It's effectively a "you go away while we decide what to do with you".

Don’t cut him, he’s a valuable asset. This team can’t be losing valuable assets.
Without all this he would maybe get you a 4th round pick max. With this no one would give you anything and he would be unemployed, at least till this was resolved. Either way he isn't that valuable right now.

My personal belief is that companies need to mind their own ****ing business when it comes to what their employees put in their bodies off hours. That being said, I can see why some places, like the nfl, have testing in place. Dangerous jobs as well. The dv thing is what’s bad imo. Hernandamurder etc…If dudes want to get high off work, more power to em. Just don’t do it at work like that White House employee that left a coke bag “allegedly”.
So you would be fine with your daughter/wife/sister going to work everyday with a person accused of beating and choking women? Your employer absolutely should get rid of you if you're a liability to those around you.

Maybe you missed where I said the DV (domestic violence) was the bad part. . So absolutely not. No place for that **** anywhere. I know from growing up with it. Reports are now saying it was her (of course), so only time will tell with peppers. I’ve seen it go either way (man starting it vs woman etc) so at this point nothing would surprise me. Toss in booze, viagra, blow, and ego and woohoo what a party. /end sarcasm

No surprise while this case is pending.

First time for DV is also a 6 game suspension from the league. I wonder if we'll see him play again this season or at all...

Does Goodell add someone to the list at his own discretion? I thought it was the team that asks him to put someone on the exempt list...

Well that lets mayo focus on **** that is not out of his hands. Now the NYFL cannot blame us for not doing anything. Mayo just has to say, “talk to assbag goodell” during his interviews….

The moral of the story is how women can destroy your career or life in general if he’s telling the truth.

That a typo? . Me too seemed to have brought out a lot of this ****. Lots of good but a lot of bad too.

Brian Banks is a great example. That was tragic.

Men have to be careful with the women they hang around with.

Saw that one coming from a mile away...

Never mind the drug allegations, as soon as dv was involved it was inevitable.

Pep man, this goes without saying, what the **** were you thinking... Rhetorical because he couldn't have been

Guilty until proven innocent, especially if it’s a Patriot.

**** Stokoe the Clown Baddell.

This is one of those cases where it probably benefits the Patriots. If he's actually guilty of what he's accused of, they're probably going to cut him. So you're left with the dilemma of: Do we bench a player who might be innocent, all the while losing a spot on the roster? Or do we play him, later finding out he's a violent abuser and take a major PR hit. This way, they keep the roster spot, it's out of their hands, and whichever way it goes they can pivot.

It sucks in general, but this makes things easier for the team.

Guy better clam up.

He’d have to take a plea deal basically in the next 6 weeks, and then they’d give him credit for his time on the commissioner exempt list as suspension instead. Obviously, that timeline doesn’t work if his intention is to fully beat the allegations in court. He also needs to avoid serving a personal conduct policy suspension followed by a substances of abuse suspension.

It’s messy. When Tyreek Hill had another set of problems in 2019, he and the Chiefs agreed he would stay away from offseason workouts, and the Chiefs didn’t mind if he kept taking up an offseason roster spot. He was cleared by the NFL before the season started. Watson and the Texans agreed to keep him on the roster for the entire 2021 season even though he wouldn’t participate at all. So it seems that players can avoid the commissioner exempt list via some other agreement to sit out. Most teams are going to want the roster spot (during the season, at least), and players will want credit for time served like Mike Hall with the Browns just got last week but Watson did not after his more unofficial paid suspension.
