Let's focus on Positives. What next?

Every team on our schedule other than Jacksonville is getting better and better. I predicted 0-8 and 1-16 with a lone win against the colts. Perhaps 3-14 is achievable by taking a game against Miami.
WOW!
I guess for you MIA, NYJ and TEN are just awesome!

Miami is not, as I called out. Read much?

Jets looked good before laying a stinker but Denver has a top 3 defense. Tennessee is slowly improving. None of those teams are losing in embarrassing fashion as we are.

Tennessee is no push over, but they did lose 30-14 at home to the Packers when they had Malik Willis at QB. In that context, I don't think you can say that's any less embarrassing than losing 30-13 on the road against the 49ers.

This is all splitting hairs though. Overall you're right that there aren't going to be many games (if any) where majority people are going to be picking the Pats to win. I just think you're giving the Titans more credit than they deserve for their season so far.

I think LaFleur (along with O’Connell) are one of those very rare coaches that know how to communicate insanely well with QBs and that’s why there’s little drop off with whoever is back there. QB aside GB also has a very good team.

Sure, all credit to them. Just saying if losing by 17 on the road to a team with their starting QB that was in the SB the year before is embarrassing, so is losing to a team at home by 16 who is playing their backup.

I agree and also had low expectations going into the season. We would also likely be 0-4 if Gesicki’s TD wasn’t incorrectly called back.

It’s ok to lose and I understand the multi-year process building a team takes. The problem for me is in how bad the team looks and it appears to be progressively getting worse. Many people on this forum seem to have created hills they’d like to die on and use feint observations (Polk runs good routes!) to act like the ownership, GM, and HC aren’t creating a train wreck.

On one extreme we have the non stop negativity but on the other end is toxic positivity. Neither opposite should expect anyone to join them just because negativity is reality or positivity is objectively good.

A team that everyone believes going into a season isn't likely to win 4.5 games is already a train wreck. 1-4 is already a train wreck. That doesn't mean we couldn't/shouldn't look to see if there are some things we might be able to build on going forward. We already know in a "total rebuild" lots of pieces get kep, they don't fire the whole team.

Tennessee is no push over.
I get it

No team is a pushover, especially for a team as weak as we are. I was just reacting to the doom-and-gloom folks who project us losing almost always.

It's quite bizarre that most posters knew this team was terrible, yet are shocked they are as terrible as advertised.

The book isn't written on Mayo yet, but it's certainly going as predicted. Maye is his golden ticket. If he's a bust, Mayo and Wolf will get their asses canned.

With that said, Christian Gonzalez continues his strong season. Only allowing 74 yards total, yards per target is a measly 3, yards per target is 5.7 and a 71 QB rating when thrown at. He's going to national recognition is he continues on this path.

They have a gift for the incredibly obvious.

Makes sense, then, that they establish that the team sucks with a mid-level NFL veteran QB before they start using Maye.

Pleasantly surprised by Gonzalez, I thought he was due for a regression (and still might be) but so far he looks like the real deal.

It's not about the points it's about the nature of the loss. We lost in spectacular fashion. A symphony of ****.

Their approach this off-season has been extremely amateur. The OL should've been addressed via FA no matter who the QB was. Brissett was a bottom tier QB and I hated the signing from day 1 (got my usual resistance on it). He is exactly as advertised and yet posters are upset with him. I predicted it would take 3 weeks for posters to call for his benching and here we are. Too funny.

Agreed, yet good OL are very hard to find, and I don't recall many good ones around on the FA market. We missed the run in the draft early in the first round since we went for Maye. Probably should have gone OL with the 2nd round pick, even if it was a developmental player.

If you sign a free agent QB to a 1 year contract for $8M you can't possibly think you're getting anything but a bottom teir guy. Top teir guys are getting $50M/$60M on multi-year contracts, and they don't even make it to free agency. Derek Carr made it to FA, but he's not the answer.

Focusing on the positives, at least JB isn't actively losing us games, at least not to the same degree Mac and Bailey before him did.

Fair enough, but last year's dumb-ass penalties, incompetent special teams, interceptions and sacks given up was a deluge of dysentery.

At least we're pushing out solid, ripe, and musical turds these days.

Gonzo, White and Peppers. Joey Slye and Barringer
Not much on Offense

Offer Joe Milton III to the Dolphins for their first round pick. They say no, but agree to give us their second.

Cuz desperation time may set in.

Milton III could become a superstar in Miami.

Did Ryan Tannehill retire? It makes no sense that he’s not playing when you see some of the QB play going in right now.
