How could NO or KC trade for him? He has a $16M salary and each of those teams only have about $4.5M in cap space?
The team acquiring him takes on his prorated salary, as of today that would be @ $12M. Realistically, scrounging $8-12M in cap space to get a one and done deal completed is pretty easily doable for most teams. The problem for KC or NO would be if Robinson had multiple years remaining on his deal that needed to be accomodated.
Don't misunderstand me, I'd be down for trading a conditional 4th for Robinson if he agreed to an etension. I was actually thinking over the weekend about him as an option for the Pats, that's why I responded when I saw your post. After a cursory look I came away thinking the Pats would be up against a set of circumstances that aren't in their favor trying to get that deal done. Worth digging into on their part though. After all, nothing ventured...
