The dysfunction is already starting to show.
Wolf said he felt they had all of the pieces for a good OL.
Covington is saying it’s not Xs and Os.
Mayo is calling out some players but effusively supporting the Qb who has been worse than jones and Zappe.

And the team plays worse each week.
We got destroyed by the Jets who couldn’t beat Denver and are the only team the 9ers beat other than us.

The finger pointing and CYA is going to grow.
There is no improvement on the horizon, you get what you pay for.
But you can’t keep a guy on the field who stinks because of cohesion. Robinson is a huge liability. Did you watch what Collins did to him on back to back plays? I’ve was abused like a 98 lb weakling. Cohesion doesn’t fix that.

Whoever we put at LT has been putrid. Cohesively putrid is still putrid.

I think the biggest issue is we don’t know how to evaluate OL. We drafted Wallace to be a LT when it’s clear he isn’t. We resigned a good G and made him into an average at best RT.

But ultimately teams with OL issues still run effective offenses. We don’t have the brain trust to do that.
Oh I get that and your right. At this point we don't have the horses in the stable.. it's basically back ups, replacing back ups. Donovan Smith or David Baktirihi never looked more appealing than now.

I was done with Uche after week 2. Dude cannot be more than a sub package pass rusher. Jennings has looked good out there but no real pass rush. I think the issues with the defense is more attributed to them being on the field, same as last year. The big difference is Barmore being out is a much bigger issue than Judon being out last year because pressure up the middle is more impactful than outside pass rush. The opinion in this comment are not necessarily shared by the admin of this site.
I think your right on that assessment.. look at Chris Jones.. he's a wrecking ball up the middle.. Brady said he hated defenses that always pressured him up the A gap. Yeah barmore and Bentley are insurumeasurable losses for us.. our studs have been gonzo, peppers and wise.

Management has sent mixed messages through the media all year. It's definitely a flaw of them trying to be the opposite of Bill with media. But I think that's all it is right now. Internally everything seems on the same page.

I believe the players are all still buying into the coaches. For how long who knows. I'm sure as the loses mount this will get more interesting and hopefully nothing major occurs.

I definitely do not think there is any infighting between Mayo, Wolf, AVP, and Covington at all and that was what I really meant. And again hopefully they all have the fortitude not to let anything creep in this season they all knew what they signed up for so they all need to stay committed to the collaborative.
Why do you think those things?

I’m referring to
1) internally everyone seems to be on the same page.
Example, AVP implies Maye is his decision and Mayo implies its his.

2) players buying into coaches
I haven’t seen anything recently to make me feel like this. I know that keeping the QB in the pocket was a coaching emphasis this week, and they failed miserably. If the ol and Qb are buying into how they are being coach then the coaching is awful.

3) do nothing there’s in fighting
No way to know, but there seems to be a real penchant for throwing blame around, and as things get worse, how will that evolve?

White has disappeared since his first two weeks this season. That's disappointing.

I liked Baker's confidence during the off-season, but his **** talking is not aging well. He can't even beat out the players the Pats are trotting out on the field. The dude is watching the game at home with us.

What doesn't make sense is that Bobby thinks the players are going to respond to an inexperienced HC over a 6 time Super Bowl winning HC. Bobby wants it both ways where he shoves out the old guy, but still wants ties with his young disciple.

With how bad our tackles have been this year, Jonah Williams and even Elluminor would have been upgrades from what we got.

They started a guy claimed off of waivers that scored in the 30’s for his pff grade yesterday. Even an average or slightly below average tackle signing in the offseason would have helped.
This is after you've had 4 injuries at the position. No one plans for that.

But Jonah Williams has been injured the entire season. Eluemenor, is he really better than Onwenu at right tackle?

Look at the snap counts yesterday. There are many players getting on the field who probably aren’t even nfl caliber. There are a number of players getting 30+ snaps who at best should be end of bench/game day inactive/practice squad guys.

And there is 40,000,000 unspent.

Look at all the players on that snap count list that could have been upgraded with 40 mill (not to mention the 20 they misspent).

This is a front office debacle.

The young disciple isn't the problem.

The problem is entirely in the owner's box and in the front office.

This organization is hamstrung and it has been for a very long time now.

It’s not the injuries, they all suck. And who are 4 injuries? Lowe who stinks and Wallace who was healthy and on the bench. That’s not 4.

You're reading into things I dont believe there have been any reporting to lead us to believe problems have started.

"Pressures" are subjective and doesn't have any context. I've pointed out examples where the Pats have had "pressure" this season only to end up allowing a big play.

Sacks are guaranteed negative plays.
The DL is going to have a horrible time every game the refs refuse to call offensive holding. So, if he looked bad by not setting the edge yesterday, that was by design. No DE is ever going to defeat that.

He had a good game last week, so I don't think only 2 games is accurate. He was integral in stuffing the Jets running game and putting pressure on Rodgers. But the d-backfield didn't hold up.

Agreed. If they had built in proper depth a couple injuries could be overcome. There is exactly one player (Onwenu) that actually matters to this OL... everyone else is a liability in some form or another (rookie or ineffective vet/journeyman)

He became tired of spending almost as much as other teams and not winning. So he stopped spending and gave Mayo a chance.

Just as you are reading into things to say there is not.

Im going by what they are saying publicly already and how it ALWAYS happens that CYA people turning each other.

Maybe this week they can put a picture of a mirror on top of the hill.

And if they built depth across the roster OL issues would be easier to overcome.
Of course if they brought in offensive coaches who didn’t suck the OL issues wouldn’t be as bad and the scheming and play calling would lessen the impact.

Drafting Maye was sensible to me, but I think Wolf made bad decisions with stop-gap QB and OL. OL is making everyone look bad and it's not all injuries. It's woefully inadequate talent and everyone knew it.
The decision to bring in Jacoby was primarily becuase AVP, and Mayo signed off becuase he was a former Patriot.. during the honeymoon phase everyone is open and optimistic. Now things are for real jobs possibly on the line if things persist... I know the organization knew it was going to be growing pains.. but the teams not groing and it's a lot of pain on my eyes watching Brissett .

Well, he hired Mayo because he 'Likes him" ("Kraft and Mayo go together"). And decided to do so 5 years earlier, despite Mayo having never even been a Coordinator, let alone a successful one. Been a fan since Plunkett, and I can tell you that I've seen this movie before and it was often disappointing at best.
Thank you DaBruinz for the 'Ugh" emoji. I was getting concerned that you were slacking because you hadn't posted one yet.
