Defense actually played them pretty well in the 1st half (sans the couple long bombs)
But, Offense is about equivalent to a Texas highschool team.
And we can't blame the OL today. They did half-decent. JB had time 3/4 of the time. He just doesn't see a damn thing, he's skittish and tries to run when he shouldn't and doesn't run/scramble to extend plays when he should.
A playmaking QB can often make a weak OL look half decent. Because no one needs to defend our offense.
We had SOOO many open WR's on many plays. Soon, the team will either quit or force Maye to step in.

Why wouldn't you think that? They were incompetent on all levels last year. Including coaching. I feel like people are getting amnesia and not remembering how many penalties and mistake filled games we had.

Literally the only good thing about the team last year was we had a decent run stop. Our passing defense was ****, our special teams was worst in the league (we actually improved this year), our line sucked, our WR's sucked (Polk might actually finally be an upgrade).
I’ve seen this before, been a pats fan for 40+ years, this wont end up well. I believe the Kraft fk’ed this up from the time Brady left, they let it happen, then they held the purse strings, we all saw it. Going be a long time before this team is good again and might never be. I’ll still watch and root for them but it’s an ownership and leadership disaster. Seen it too many times and in real life not just football games.

It's only a matter of time before Bob throws Mayo under the bus, especially if Bill returns and has success.

Huh? They were just as bad as they've been all season. Maybe the reason you haven't heard much is because...what else can be said about them?
Yes, the OL the same as they have been all season. SOME teams with a poor OL get significantly worse if they lose their starting LT and their canter leaves early in the game, add also lose their backup LT to injuries.

I think the line played decent today. If you watch, Brisket a lot of the time had a 3 count to get the ball out. Now, were the WRs etc not open, or were they actually NFL open but Brisket didn't see them? 3 seconds is a lot and remember TB would get the ball out under 3 because he knew where to do with it before the snap. Brisket doesn't seem to able to do that.

They are more concerned trying to look competitive instead of trying to win
Agree, that plan…

This is a very long rebuild unless Krafty Bob wants to pay 120% market for free agents - 10% to cover the millionaire tax and 10% to cover the ****ty facility in the middle of nowhere and suck team tax.
I don't like the millionaire's tax but the Pats are only 9th worst after CA (3 teams), NJ (2), NY, MN, & DC.

Jacoby averaging 134 passing yards per game and on pace for 8.5 TD's.

And many of you guys thought this was a solid signing....

Solid in that he knows he a placeholder and won't get butthurt when Maye replaces him later in the season. He was basically signed to not throw INT's (like Mac and Zappe) behind the worst O-line in the league and then move on after this year (or maybe stay as a backup). In that regard, it was a solid signing. He's not a diva. He shouldn't be under the impression he's the starter after this year. He won't make a scene.

In half one i may agree, it looked like there was time for brissett he was just completely inept. In half 2 they started to unravel. Same with the defense after they were decent in half one (10 of the 20 points they had no fault in).

The team is not good but the play of the qb makes it infinitely worse. They didn’t necessarily throw the towel in but theres a reason teams with Tom Brady you see guys playing above their expectations and defenses making stop after stop to get you back in games. They had belief. When you see guys like mac and Jacoby under center it has to be completely deflating.

It’s a rebuilding year and I see us getting a top 5 pick next draft.

Honestly our o-line needs to be better. With the current o-line no QB is going to survive a full season.

Sure JB is far from a starting caliber QB but rather ride him until the wheels falls off than compromising our future QB. If o-line doesn’t get any better then put Joe Milton in there.

My biggest concern is Rhamondre, his ball security skill is awful. He fumbled every week this season. He might be on his way out if he can’t hold on to the ball.

This team also needs a true #1 veteran WR and hope we go for one next year if we can address many of our holes via draft next year.

Sucks to lose, but hey at least the Jets lost at home today against the Broncos lol

Agreed and you are correct. Thats why I said decent overall. Good and poor here and there. The team in general cannot be happy with 100 yards per game of passing offense now 4 games into the season. They just can't. That will start taking its tool, and I wonder how players feel about Maye. Meaning, do they think it is best for him long term to sit and get better in practice, or do they just want him to play so it might be a better offense. I dunno.

I was at the game and the one thing that really stood out to me was that our receivers simply did not get any separation all game. I actually don’t think that Brisette played that badly. He had no one open and when he did hit someone in their hands there were a bunch of drops. The receiving corps needs to be the number one area for improvement.
We found AVP’s account or clearly you have been drinking

I agree. However, I would absolutely not play him behind this OL (and that's before Andrews and Wallace got injured). I understand the theory of he'll learn from the reps and such in an actual game, and I know that a player can get injured just warming-up in practice, but the risk of injury alone is just too great. I like what little I have seen of him (athletic ability, character, and mental toughness from playing behind a mediocre at best offense at UNC). And I don't suspect that it'll hurt his psyche if they loose with him as QB. I just don't want him falling into bad habits because of it. I'm not an AVP Fan, but at least AVP is not hurting him with what he's having him do regarding the fundamentals. There's nothing there that a new OC would have to re-coach (or coach out of him that AVP is doing).
We drafted a guy but we are actually never gonna play him because we are too scared for him to actually play football. Seriously what are we doing ?

So next year if the line is injured again, are you benching him in season because you are too scared he’ll get injured too?

On the positive side, early in the 3rd they were only down 20-10 and that included Jacoby's unforced pick 6. ST's were good: punting, FG's, punt returns. The D looked ok except for the blown safety coverage on Deebo's bomb after Dugger got hurt. The other 49er big plays were just good offense.

The OL was what you'd expect with Jacobs starting at LT, then Andrews and Wallace going out. We're having one of those years with OL injuries, they're contagious. Hopefully Lowe and Jordan are back next week.
All the injuries are just a punishment for starting Brissett instead of Maye.
