Maye was the pick. Mayo's call. They didn't draft a left Tackle. Mayo's call. There rookies are not producing yet, Mayo's choices. 14 more games to go. Soft team, lots of injuries. Mayo pay's Ramondre a long term contract, Mayo's evaluation.
Really, mayos got that much power as a first year head coach, got a link

So I missed the game but from the sound of it the game didn’t go well.

It’s a small sample size but is Mayo just not a good coach or too early to say?

Lots of non-play by the O-line. Jacoby hanging onto the ball (6 sacks 10 hits). Rham fumbles again. Slye sets the Pats record for longest FG.
Some dumb play calls like trying to draw the 9ers offsides on 4th down. Calling a TO and then going for it. Bad tackling continues.

I would say that it is too early...

AVP appears to be a brutal pick up.

Head coaches are contractually obligated to talk to the press. Do you think BB would have done any pressers at all if that wasn't required of him in his contract?

Being obligated to talk to the press and being obligated to reinvent PR are two different things. My point is this: let Mayo be BB in his pressers. It feels to me he's having to compensate for the tight lipped nature of this team the past 20 years.

The bad tackling is killing us

What if he doesn't want to be BB? He's his own man. He can decide how he deals with the press.

Except he isn't. He's Kraft's, however uncomfortable that is to say. And if it truly is him trying to take up that mantle, someone should... Suggest he take a different approach.
Do you have a link to a report where it says Kraft wants Mayo to treat the press a certain way?

I'm not in or out on Mayo yet, but I will say this: he's being saddled with a ******** job alongside his HC duties.

Mayo is being tasked to reinvent the Patriots public image for Kraft, as well. He has to talk to the press and give them more answers. He is being tasked with this in the most frustrating stage of team building.

I don't see why we saddle him with both. Let that dipshit Wolf be your brand ambassador. Mayo is kinda boring, nothing even special in those pressers, let him just focus on being a HC.

Wolf or even Jonathan Kraft could do some of that during the week, as you suggest, perhaps taking part of the load (heat) off Mayo. The only problem is the HC is required to be available for press access midweek and after games, at the very least. It's hard to discern how much of Mayo's oversharing is tasked by the Krafts and how much is just him. I get the sense he likes to talk.

Like that one play where Peppers launched himself at a WR for no reason and let the guy simply run by him.
I was at the game and the one thing that really stood out to me was that our receivers simply did not get any separation all game. I actually don’t think that Brisette played that badly. He had no one open and when he did hit someone in their hands there were a bunch of drops. The receiving corps needs to be the number one area for improvement.

No Arch, goddamnit, I'm just going off of gut intuition and the dumbass rollout that Kraft had with Mayo in the first place, it just seems like he's doing too much. Furthermore, the final part of that post said "...if it is him, then someone should suggest otherwise."

I went to my first Patriots game as a 10 year old in 2001. Some guy named Mo Lewis knocked Drew Bledsoe out

A couple months later, my dad and I went to what may be the greatest game of all-time- The Snow Bowl

Since then, I’ve been to countless Patriots pre season, regular season, and playoff games.

I’ve traveled to Buffalo, Indianapolis, Houston, Arizona, and Los Angeles to watch Patriots games

I’ve brought my Southern California born-and-bred wife to the coldest regular season in Patriots history.

I’ve flown cross-country from LA to attend Brady’s return with the Bucs.

When I moved to LA in 2015, I attended Patriot watch parties nearly weekly in some dingy-LA bar.

Since moving to Dallas a year ago, I’ve done the same

I truly feel at this point I am DONE. I absolutely despise what Bob Kraft, Jonathan Kraft, and that snake Mayo have done to this team. Sadly even the rare, positive big play brings me no joy like they even did over the last four mediocre years.

Pretty sure I’m just going to start rooting for whoever Belichick coaches next year. Living in Dallas, I have my fingers crossed for the Cowboys

That's what I thought. So, yeah, it's just Mayo being himself up there. There's no evidence to suggest otherwise.
