You blame the coach?

We started an unproven rookie RT at LT.
We started a Practice Squad player (2 weeks ago) at LG.
We started a solid top veteran at C (Yay!)
We started a rookie at RG who is a total disaster on any pass down, and who allows the most pressures and sacks.
We started a top NFL RG at RT.

and the fault is the coach? ROFL
My comment came in response to someone saying people argued that the OL would be better than last year. I said I thought with an OL coach it would improve. Not blaming the coach that it hasn't improved just saying I thought it would. You seem sensitive about something, is coach Peters related to you?

Last night was a disaster, but many Thursday night games are. Having the Thursday night game so early in the season is also a detriment to a team like the Patriots that has a whole new coaching staff, a new system, a lot of new players, and an o-line that hasn't found its footing. Last night was a major concern about how the rest of the season may go, but it could also be an abnormality.

One thing that points to it being a bit of an abnormality were all the missed and broken tackles by the Pats' defense. Towards the end of the broadcast, they said it was up to 14. That is extremely high especially for a defense that was pretty disciplined about tackling the first two weeks.

No point going into the individual players because last night was an absolute dumpster fire. Let's just hope it was a case of a young team with a new coaching staff that couldn't get prepared for a game on a really short week early in the season.
This may have been a bad Thursday night game vs the Rats, but it wasn’t close to as bad as the Butt Fumble game was for the Rats.

Racists get the full ignore. Nice.

Everyone arguing over the ****ty OL. You guys, we knew the the OL was crap and could not be fixed in one off-season. How is any of this a surprise.

The real questions - defense and coaching.

Defense came out and sucked from the first series and through the entire 1st half. Did the jets let up or did the defense improve? Idk.

Coaching. Clearly this game was an across the board coaching fail. The question is whether they can right the ship or is it gonna continue to suck.

Guess we will find out.

Check the pressures and sacks allowed. Jordan isn't the problem. He was only added this year after Sow was injured. He is an OK backup OG and emergency #3 C.

I like Robinson's future. Mayo likes Robinson's future. But his future isn't now. When Sow returns, I would not be surprised to see Robinson be removed as a starter. Either Sow or Onwenu should be starting. Wallace isn't a LT. We should see if he is a RT. Give him reps at RT and perhaps we will have a solid RT starter next year, or at worst our backup RT and OL on jumbo sets.
Jordan's not good either, he's just a guy. The should move Onwernu back inside, get Sow back healthy. The interior at least would be solid.

Play Caeden Wallace, Demontrey Jacobs and Zachary Thomas at tackle... not that they are good, but they're the best of a bad bunch.

You’re gonna judge him after 3 games? News flash for you, he took over a 4 win team.
Yes Mayo is a rookie coach but AVP and Mayo were embarrassed last night.

Rodgers was throwing the ball in the middle of the field on slants and the Pats D did not adjust until late in the 3rd Q.

The JETS D was bringing 4 and 5 guys and it looked like 8. The JETS were very successfully timing our snap count, and we had very few play calls that surprised the JETS D.

Our coaching last night was as ugly as it gets.

So you are saying is Brissett = the entire team.

Coaching, strategy, scheme, preparation, motivation, roster decisions are all irrelevant, changing any or all of them would have zero impact?

And all coaches would not have brissett at qb.
[/QUOTE

No but he's in the most important position on the team.

Mayo pretending he is wearing the big boy pants instead of being a DEI hire. Maybe he can take a few shots at BB to make himself feel better.
Bill is this you? Or I'm sorry Lombardi this is you! LOL

Pardon me, I meant to say You ****ING CLUELESS ****ING IGNORANT ****ing hero-worshipping ****ing redneck.
there ya go... i think the second one strikes a nice, balanced well spoken reaction to the events that occurred...

lol, man, last night was a pisser... its good to vent every once in a while

Don't hire Chuks, Jordan and Leverett... hire some competent linemen instead.

I don't understand this take at all. Wolf hired stiffs, now we're saying it will take a long time to fix.

It will take a long time to fix if you sign or rely on bad players... in fact if all you hire is bad players, you'll never fix it at all.

Sven says that Caeden Wallace didn’t look that bad!
Outside of two holding penalties, he looked as good or better than Lowe ever looked.

I don't want to go back to Lowe, at least the three young tackles (Caeden Wallace, Demontrey Jacobs, Zachary Thomas) have potential upside.

I'll take a small glimmer of hope over no hope at all.

The sloppy, lazy, inattentive play, particularly on defense, certainly may be attributed to the HC. Mayo himself has essentially said this himself. While it is certainly too early to form a definitive judgment on Mayo as a head coach, it is foolish and irresponsible to ignore such evidence as presents itself which suggests that his effort at mastering the job is not yet complete. He may or may not do so in the end: we do not know. but we, and hopefully the Krafts, ought not ignore his failings along the way. Acknowledging them is the only sound basis for addressing them, after all. Mayo does not seek to elude such scrituiny. Why should we do so on his behalf? I trust no one is say offering the view, insulting to Mayo or to any other black hiree, that because he is black, he cannot bear honest scrutiny and cannot stand ultimately on the basis of actual merit.

Not much was out there. That's the point. Good OL don't get to FA and good tackles never do

Tough fekkin' room.

Our coaching was completely embarrassed last night. I hoped the coaching would be OK, and we could add players, but after last night, the team looks like a complete cluster ****.

So the disappointment is great and the room is tough.

And should be.

The really concerning part is that the Jets defense seemed to know our snap count from the very beginning. Like, they were RUSHING at the same moment we were snapping, multiple times, very easily

That is really the only inexcusable thing, giving that these rumours appeared last week.

Everything else is expected. This line is very bad and it won't become good this season. We need it to be stable enough (as in, we have to know who are our best 5) before doing anything else

until then, even Brady wouldnt get this team very far

This absolutely did not happen.
I've calmed down after my overaction..LOL.. look they had a bad night the entire team. This it what it will look like at it's worst and Cincy at its best.

If... just if.. the lineup on the O-line can stay together for a few games can they improve? As bad as want to see maye daye.. I'm alright with Brissett taking the punishment. Defense is banged up and depth is challenged... went against AR who's still showed he's a future HOF in case we forgot.

Next week... no Deebo, no CMC should at least allow the defense to get the stench off them. If Purdy carves them up then the defense aren't what I thought they would be.
