Damn, Icy, harshing my mellow

Many thought Williams was a good processor and could excel in structure before improvising. But your post more accurately describes him in the NFL so far. Hoping Maye's play is much better whenever he steps in
Yeah I mean a lot of folks treated Williams like he had zero risk or downsides which seemed silly. Meanwhile Maye’s big “knock” was footwork issues which already seem to be a lot better after one camp. And Daniels also looks fairly decent, better than Williams thus far.

I guess we will see - maybe by end of year both guys will have played a good bit and we can make a judgment. Although, in 2021 we would’ve said Mac Jones was looking better than Lawrence by the end of that season, and obviously that didn’t hold in the long term.

Jacoby would never attempt to make a throw into that tight of a window. He avoids potential INTs but we also limit our offense.

This happens every year.

I went to one LA Raiders game in the early 90’s as a kid and told my Dad that I never want to return. It looked like a prison yard.

Chargers fans are usually quite mellow when they don’t play the Raiders. Going to San Diego games were a way better experience.

I haven’t had a chance to go to SoFi yet.

I watched a lot of pac10 games last year- Penix was easily the best qb in that conference. Yes, he had wrs, but his ol was not great. Williams wasn't great. He rode a great 2022 season to that #1 pick.
But dude has zero leadership ability.
He's very small for a qb. His intermediate throws are very good but his deep ball is lacking.
Both Maye and Daniels have off the chart intangibles, unlike Caleb. Both have better deep balls. Both are tougher.
Both are way less self-absorbed.
I've never been a guy who wants someone to fail just because I was down on them in the draft.
I've never understood that mentality. I want all these guys to succeed, unless they play for a rival or the Jete.
I'd love to see Caleb turn into an elite qb.
I just don't think he will. He will be a decent qb but not on Maye's level.
And I'd bet my left nut Daniels will have a better career.( but those Tyquan Thornton legs scare the **** out of me)

I agree with most all of this. I don't want to see him fail at all. Just last season at USC soured me on him and I was a tank for Caleb guy. I wasn't as high on Maye or Daniels until last season. Maye showed me a lot with his attitude and ability to make something basically out of nothing.

Daniels won't last. He is the second pick of the draft, and his kicker hit 7 FGs to win. No TDs, nothing.

This is the second straight week the Bears are wearing those awful uniforms.

They scare me too. I am on record with the same comparison and my take is that Daniels never makes it past Y5. I think Maye will be the best of the lot simply because of his height and weight. Williams and Daniels are too short and scrawny.

If didn't know better and someone told me that QB from the Bears was drafted 1 overall in the '24 draft I would say they are smoking crack.

Williams is not looking good hot damn.

Caleb has a lot of bad habits, Pats look smarter by the snap not playing Maye. Caleb will get crushed by the media shortly while Drake will be chilling with his VR playbook

Caleb is taking longer and longer to get up after each hit

I hope for Caleb’s sake they get rid of eberflus for a quality offensive mind.
