I don't think they are playing Maye this year much at all. They need to ignore the noise and stick the plan. When he is ready, he is ready regardless of the week or opponent. I don't think it's anytime before week 12 or so unless JB gets hurt.
He will be “ready” faster by playing.

How many passes to Douglas? How many passes to Thornton? I think it is zero to each. Both are really fast guys that separate early so the ball has to come out and be accurate to hit the fast guys in stride. Brissett will never do that, he is physically limited. We will keep losing like this until Maye plays.

I’m happy overall with Jacoby and how the team is performing. I thought things would have been much worse. I enjoy the competitiveness of the team. I’m fine with sticking to the plan and let Jacoby continue to play.
You are happy with Jacoby Brissett? Do you enjoy gas station sushi?

My question is. On a short week.. does Drake get 50% of reps?
He didn’t get 50% in a regular week and they guy they are trotting out there clearly needs 100%
This is the dilemma. Play an unprepared qb or let the QBOTF atrophy.

Pats should be 2-0 which is a good sign.

Silver pants should be mandatory at home. It looks way better than the pajama look. I’d even like to see the silver pants as road alternates.

White continues to rack up sacks.

OL is what it is in the passing game.

Where the fuk is Javon Baker? He talks a bunch or **** in the offseason, but can’t even get on the field.

I guess the question is

Are people willing to deal with a horrendously boring offensive football team for a year If

It inceases the likelihood of success for Maye’s development

I am

What about the coach? Does he still get held accountable as it relates to the team’s performance?
Everyone gets held accountable for what they are responsible for. You can look at Wolfe/Mayo/whoever had primary responsibility for the decision to bring in Brissett, and you'd also have to compare that against what other options there were. But either way, I think the expectation would be that Brissett (or any other veteran QB with starting experience) play veteran football. If he fails to do so, you first look for other options at qb before throwing out the coach/gm. Same thing goes for the OL situation. That's the 2 big issues right now. Hopefully the answer to 1 is already in the building. If they fail to address the second one to any significant level by next season then you might start pointing the finger at the staff rather than the players whose performance is subpar.

What did he do wrong, specifically? I saw a few offensive play calls that were baffling, but that's not his work.

Mayo doesn't sound like he is, he's already saying he wants to push the ball down the field more that's already heading towards a quarterback change because Brissett has never done that.

If we lose to the Jets and 49ers the clock is already ticking on the Brissett experience.

They aren't giving Maye 30% of snaps to sit on the bench all year, week 5 if they're getting tired of having no passing game and week 9 if they're being more conservative are possible spots for Maye.

Not a sushi fan but Jacoby is playing better that I thought he would.

Your expectations must be very low.

But it doesn’t increase the likelihood. It just delays his development.

You’re kidding right?
No. AVP didn't have a great game either. Seattle's D was a step ahead of us most of the day, and I think they'll do that to a lot of teams. Not arguing to keep playing Jacoby, he's gotta step it up real quick - just that today wasn't all on him.

Gonzo and Duggar did not know how to switch and gave up an easy touchdown. Neither is a rookie. Bad preparation.

Multiple penalites that could be avoided.

Lots of contain defense. Very little pressure on Geno Smith. Again that is the defensive game plan. Way too conservative - no exotic blitzes. Managed the game into a loss. The defense has a lot of veterans so complex early season game plans should be possible.

Conservative defense led to the field goal right before halftime that could have been avoided.

Pass play on 3rd and 2 or 3 around the 20, and Brissett dropped back to pass and gets sacked. We missed the fieldgoal. Mayo could have discussed the play like we are used to seeing on the Pats sideline.
