Pats did what they couldn’t do the past few years - dominate on the ground. They could never seem to get a 60 minute ground game recently but did today. A QB’s best friend. The defense has talent and is solid. If the offense can move the chains this team can be OK. Bengals got 48 snaps - credit to both defense and offense.

Pats take a win where most everyone had them losing this game.

A 5 star day for Mayo. The team was prepared, focused and disciplined. Very few penalties and mistakes. All the while sending a message to Baker for his antics.

This NE OL is not the worst in the NFL. The Bengals have the worst OL.

One of the guys I go to games with has been thinking about who’s jersey to purchase because he had a Mac Jones jersey, after the game I told him # 99 is the way to go.
Personally I would wait a year because it seems likely they’ll redesign the jersey in 2025

You're not going to find a stud LT in FA. Teams don't let go of them once they have them.
I have to agree. Even the stop gap types potentially available are pretty average. It’s best to just grab one in the draft.

Lowe was basically doing what was expected of him, rerouting the rusher downfield and refusing to give up the inside. It lead to speed rushes from the edge, but they never got there in time. They rushed Jacoby, but didn't break him.

I will say Jacoby isn't great at seeing his blind side, because he had Rham wide open in the flat for a huge gain and instead he threw an out to the other side that wasn't accurate.
Great insights. I know Lowe was giving up pressures all game. But to your point he didn't give up the inside. When the line produces 170 on the ground against a good Cincy front hard to nit pick. I think this is good start.. the team is riding high on confidence and buy in. A tough gritty win. I expect to see a little more from the passing game next week. Polk should be a starter.

You point is the same as Scar's. If you have a weakness at LT, you find ways to compensate.
"it'll do you in a pinch"

it works, for now. won't always though. It creates a potential mismatch scenario that will eventually get exploited.

I pointed out in the game day thread that the people that wanted us to sign Jonah Williams need to realize that even the Bengals were like bro is too bad for our team.

Great point, I always tell him not to because players always leave. I remember when he showed up with a Mac Jones jersey and he noticed I had a look on my face, he said what.

Welcome back Special Teams! We've missed you so, and you did it without taking up three extra ST players on the roster.

Great punts, Schooler was a star and a fumble caused by a long-snapper. Reliable kicking. And no stupid penalties (except for the first play of the game).
Dial is a STO only player.
Schooler is an STO player.
I also think of Elliss as primarily a STer.

Great Win
I had them losing 17-6
Glad I suck at picks
That was old school football
Run the ball. Solid D. Error free

I'm pleased to say I was wrong and had doubts, but not any more. Bring on Seatle and f--k the number one pick. Great result today.
Other than trade value for dropping back, not as important to get the #1 this year. 2 QB’s will go high-ish and there will be some really good players in the top 10

They one the game because Brissett did not make mistakes.
Maye would gave made mistakes and they probably would have lost

Maye is learning by watching
JB was playing game manager. He did a great job of that. He made throws on passing downs. Your probably right on maye making mistakes.. but...his throws probably would have offset the mistakes IMO. He's just that talented.

I just woke up a few minutes ago. Was sick as a dog. No, not hungover.
Was shocked it was 5pm.
Was even more so when I checked online for the score.
Damn, wished I'd seen that.
Just reading the box score it looked like Rhamondre,Keion White and the OL!! The OL!! were all key
Nice start

Great road win for a team that needed to prove to themselves that they can compete. The three things that struck me were:
1) The offensive line did a good job giving Brissette enough time to run a West Coast offense - it is not good enough in pass protection to take advantage of Drake Maye's ability to hit receivers downfield more than 20 yards.
2) The defense is sticky everywhere - they gave up just one play of 20+ yards to a great downfield passer - and the LBs and DBs were always there when the ball arrived to limit YAC.
3) OC AVP called a professional offensive game, taking what the defense was giving the Patriots, and not being predictable except at the end when it was about using the clock. There were no gadget plays masquerading as a "creative game plan." It was just solid play calling that rarely repeated the same play on the same down.

Both lines started losing the line of scrimmage in the third quarter but both sides fought back and took back the line of scrimmage, that might be what impressed me the most.
Cincy even without Higgins is a good offense. With a top 5 QB.. they were going to move the ball and make plays eventually. But no Barmore our best player on D and we had heat on Burrow all game. Chase only made plays when he was allowed a free release as we had to respect his speed.
