NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION 2024 NFL Kick off Thursday Night Game Thread: Ravens at Chiefs

Pass to get ahead and run to win vs a QRB like Jackson. Force Jackson to beat you with his arm. As we saw last night Jackson came close, but close only counts in horseshoes. Harbawl knew it was a must win and that's why he would have went for 2 if the TD was good. No sure thing that they convert, but Jackson vs Mahomes is a mismatch in OT.

Vs a QB like Mahomes, run the ball and keep him on the bench. Slow the game down.
I agree. But the Ravens under Lamar shaped thier offense around his abilities. Guys been a multiple MVP so his game is fine. When they commit to the run it opens up the pass. The more guys you make come up in the box the better the passing game can get. Zay flowers is phenomenal.. Lamar needs another deep threat Bateman isn't cutting it.

MVP is for baseball.

Running QBs always fail because a defense will take away his ability to run and force him to pass.

So a toe barely touching the line at the back of the end zone is out of bounds and not a TD. You don’t say…

Upon further review, the NFL agrees with you, and has retroactively awarded Super Bowl 52 to the Kansas City Chiefs.

These ****ing toe plays never go our way do they? What about the raiders td in 2022 right before jacobi meyers lateral debacle .

Not to mention that slight bobble that they ruled as not losing control. The controversy around this play would be huge if it didn't happen to us everyone was against us so no one cared.

Holy ****! I remember the ball bobbling, but now the toe on the line....

That game was a **** show. 2005 Steelers vs Seahawks esque.

I haven't read all the pages in this thread so this might be a rehash.

As a Lamar owner in fantasy, I'm obviously happy when the guy runs all over the field. In real life, I find Lamar frustrating. After all this time he really hasn't done anything to round out his game. The Chiefs defense was good last night, making things tougher but man it seems like Lamar can't hit a receiver past 20 yards. The horrible throw to Flowers that would have tied the game (also owned by me: they owe me 12-14 points for that play!) and the fact that they just kept throwing 1 yard outs tells me that Jackson just is who he is.

I was really surprised that they didn't try to emulate Philly's RPO from a couple of years ago that was so effective. It makes me wonder if Henry is more cooked than they realized. He didn't really do anything last night that got me too excited.

Despite the score I felt like KC really wasn't in much danger of losing this game. It always seemed like Baltimore was just clawing to stay in it. The TD to Likely just seemed like a momentary lapse of play by the KC defense. They've done a great job of revamping their weapons over the last couple of years. Mahomes is Mahomes. Other than the really bad pick he just played within the offense and looked good doing it.

Until someone proves otherwise, KC remains the team to beat IMO.

To die — to sleep.
To sleep — perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub!
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause
You know, the dude wrote that like 400 years ago and look at all those phrases that are still familiar to us today

This is kind of a hot take I guess but I think that Shakespeare guy was really good

Nah Kermit should tell the refs to wear Chiefs jerseys next time so there’s no confusion

They give them out in the NFL too. I think the Ravens will be back in the AFCCG against KC in January and by then they will be a formidable running team no once to face. I think Lamar had become a good passer over the years. However he needs another guy on the outside Bateman is to inconsistent.

Not 100% a toe play; but David Patten unconscious on the side marker call was a good one;
.

.
Says a lot about nyjfl that I have to reach that far back in time.

That was one of those plays that made you think maybe the magic was turning a little in our favor

Haha, 2001 we definitely had an incredible amount of fortune. I felt like 2005-2013 was just offsetting that year alone
