NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION 2024 NFL Kick off Thursday Night Game Thread: Ravens at Chiefs

L Jackass 122 rush yards and of course he fumbled.
D Henry 47 rush yards

Mark Andrews had 2 targets all game.

Jackass supposedly lost all this weight in the offseason because why? To become a faster and more evasive running back in 2024 after last seasons failed experiment of LM trying to be a passing QB. Last season LM threw 457 times the most in his career. 100 + more passes than in 2022. Good luck going old skhool trying to be Mr Everything because it always ends poorly. Just ask Mike Vick and RG3.

Always wondered how long Lamar and Josh Allens primes will actually last. Both seem way too reckless for longevity.

Said it during the game, Baltimore has the talent and build to take down kc every time. But

1, kc is in their heads. In the playoff game last year i cant remember the stat but the rb’s barely got the ball in that game too. It pains me to say but it reminds me of how we used to be in certain teams heads and let them beat themselves. So much about the current chiefs unfortunately gives me certain memories.

2, Lamar doesn’t have that killer instinct on the big stage. Zay and likely were both open on the plays before and its a throw any elite qb should make with his eyes closed
True like we used to be for the Colts. I love Lamar. Whenever Baltimore is unstoppable they run the ball at will. Going away from Henry hurt them.. KCs d line wouldn't Want to touch him by the 4th Quarter. Zay was open all day.. didn't see any targets to Bateman. I still think Baltimore needs 1 more guy on the outside opposite zay.

I said this last season the KC offense is the Patriots brady offense. Ball control, scheming guys open, the running back on 3rd down. Just like us any hope to stay in games this season for us is committing to the run.

Both are in thier primes . It's a problem when the QB has more rushing yards and attempts than the actual RB

Right, id be suprised if either last more than 5 years max at their current level before they see a russell Wilson type dropoff

I want my QB to take less punishment not more.

RBs are some of the most injured players in the NFL. Todays NFL defenses are too big, strong and fast.

Why do the refs let KC's tackle, number 74, come out of his stance before the snap on almost every pass play? Is this some league policy to keep Mahomes from getting injured?

Last night is a prime example of “speed kills”. You need speed to win in this NFL and the Chiefs have it in spades. When Hollywood comes back this Chiefs team is going to be even more unstoppable.

The problem with the QRB is always the same. When facing a elite passing QB who gets a substantial lead, the QRB is forced to abandon the strongest part of his game to keep up.

I forget exactly what the rule is but there is a rule that makes this ok. Trent used to do the same thing and someone finally pointed out that it was legal I just don't recall the exact details.

Unfortunate truth. Kelce is declining slowly but still super clutch as shown in the playoffs. Rice is steadily improving and worthy is a crazy weapon for reid and mahomes , more than makes up for kelce’s dropoff. Someone may be able to knock them off but itll be tough.

Agree. That is why you have to commit to the rub. Everything you want to do on offense thrives off the ability to run. Look when we won our 1st championship. Smith was a dam good back.. and our last championship Michel ran the rock.

To die — to sleep.
To sleep — perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub!
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause

The run I meant. Lol

I was expecting an orchids of asia joke. Hamlet is just a touch more classy.

Rice has the 2nd most YAC for rookie WR in NFL history.

The 1st guy is Jamar Chase.

Ravens DC looked amateur last night continuing to allow a WR matched up on an inside LB.

Andy Reid and Kyle Shanahan are the currently the best at finding mismatches on the field.

John Harbaugh is not a guy you want making executive decisions.

Both OL's lining up behind the LOS. Shocked it took the league this long to implement it.

KC's RT Taylor still starts early.

Chris Jones is a game wrecker.

Rice had a great game last night and has taken a massive 2nd year jump.

Kelce is loafing it until the playoffs.

It's outrageously blatant. Refs were only calling OL infractions one way last night.

Pass to get ahead and run to win vs a QRB like Jackson. Force Jackson to beat you with his arm. As we saw last night Jackson came close, but close only counts in horseshoes. Harbawl knew it was a must win and that's why he would have went for 2 if the TD was good. No sure thing that they convert, but Jackson vs Mahomes is a mismatch in OT.

Vs a QB like Mahomes, run the ball and keep him on the bench. Slow the game down.
