Draft trade rumor

You don't need such complex math.

The Giants basically offered up their draft for two years in exchange for one #3 overall player.
Bill Simmons sez. This is basically like Felger pulling something out of his ass and then treating it as established fact for the following two weeks until it'd proven not true at which time 'nothing to see here!'.

I’ve never known Simmons to lie. But in any event my question was based on assuming he is right.
There's lying and there's simply being wrong. Simmons may never lie, but he's been wrong plenty.

So your response to what you would have done if what he says is true is he’s lying?
Have you considered that the person he heard it from may have been a peer who is plugged in?
I'm not fighting nor did I say anything about what I would have done. I honestly can't say what I'd have done because I don't have a team of pro scouts under my command, breaking down how much better of a prospect Maye is than the guys who went after.

Re: Simmons, of course it's always possible he's heard something from a real source.

I never said he's lying. I'm just giving context of his style. His column used to be a comedy piece where he gave gambling advice based on Jake Plummer's new beard making him look less shaky. It's a little different than a guy like Reiss or Rapaport saying something.

Bill Simmons “reported” lololololol

It's probably not true but if the offer even vaguely resembled that it is a no brainer to do it when you consider the dearth of talent on this roster.

If the front office thinks they've found their franchise QB, all those picks aren't worth it. Some teams have gone almost their entire existence without "The Guy." Look at the Chiefs. Do you think they would of made that trade? How long have the Bears been looking for a QB?

How am I a proponent by asking a question.
I didn’t take a position. I posted what Simmons said was offered and asked everyone’s opinion.
Again I didn’t take a side.
Alright, then you are against this deal.

Well. We have to fill in this week somehow.

I heard Bill Belichick's new girlfriend is an android. Discuss.

I hear that they have been making them very flexible and he has alot of money sooooo.....

I think it depends on who you ask and what you are looking for in a QB. Maye was still ahead of Daniels for me and not that far behind Williams.
What characteristics does Maye shine over Daniels?

What characteristics does Maye shine over Daniels?
The fact that I have seen Maye fire the ball over the middle is a big factor to me. Daniels has not done it enough to prove he can do it on a regular basis. For me, the fact that he is significantly younger and he is good. When Daniels was 22 at ASU he lacked traits that I find important in a QB. JD is much better now than he was at 22, so if we are considering improvement as the QB ages then Maye should be very good when he is JDs age.

I think that Maye is a better thrower off the run, JD had a tendency to only run at LSU when he broke the pocket. The play in the 3rd preseason game when Maye scrambled to the left and hit Osborn down the sideline was a play I don't think JD makes. JD is a better runner, but I think Maye has better subtle pocket movement.

I just prefer certain things out of a QB and not everyone prefers the same abilities so its completely understandable that some prefer JD to Maye, but I don't feel its a huge gap regardless of who you have higher.

@Sam Bam Cunningham what is it that you prefer about JD?

JD is creatively mobile, accurate as hell, has a great deep ball, great size and is a winner at a top program. Great footwork, quick release. Finished product

Thats fair and very valid points. From everything that I have read he has been doing well. I am excited to see how this QB class pans out in 5 years. I would not be surprised in 5 years if Caleb, JD and Maye are all considered top 10 QBs in the league.

Are you dense? I took no side.
One day youre making 2027 threads because Kraft wont spend. You want to win now.

Another day youre making a cash the chips in thread and go for it next season. You want to win later.

Have you been taking your medications?

So you're saying you'd rather have a bunch of picks and you don't want Maye?
He wants to wait and be on the winning side rather than Flip - Flop.

When did I make a cash the chips in thread?
I posted that Simmons said a trade was offered and asked people what they thought.

And FYI I want to win now and in the future. I thought everyone did.

Weak arm, and winner at a top program generally reflects more on the program than the QB. Witness Mac Jones. Also, finished product means no room for growth.

Daniels does not have a weak arm.
