Jaguar Mac Jones is about to embarrass the genius BB and his all star coaching staff [mod edit: he didn’t]

Mac has had a new OC I think 6 years in a row. He has emotional and physical limitations but BB did him no favors with Matty P.
He was trying too. I think the point in Matty P and Judge was that they could continue what Josh did since they had first hand knowledge and Bill's trust but Mac and several WRs never trusted them and never gave them a chance. Bill should have found a better solution but Mac should have handled it better too.

Pre injury Pennington was what I thought would be Mac's absolute ceiling. Not the most physically gifted but made up for it with anticipation and efficiency.
Chad was a gamer, and I dare say, a winner, except for his misfortune of being a JETE. He made the team better, they won more games than they would have otherwise. He also had a pair of balls. Mac can do none of these things, quite the opposite, imo.

I thought if Mac maxed out his ability he would be a pre-injury Pennington which would be more than enough to win games and compete in the playoffs. I figured he would likely be an Andy Dalton type quarterback but he even managed to fall short of that.

That's how I remember him. He didn't have a strong arm to begin with and then he hurt it.

I remember pining for him as a FA backup to Brady in 07 but he wanted to start and ended up with Miami. He could have been a better choice than Cassell when Brady got hurt. As it turned out 08 was Chad's last decent season.

Pennington was good until he got hurt.
This ^ he was very good, then hurt the shoulder on his throwing arm and lost velocity. Then he became a dinker and dunker.

Mac is similar to Kirk Cousins physically, but Cousins had a moment with Washington where he'd had enough of being disrespected and his balls dropped. Mac hasn't had that yet, he may never.

Au contraire, both are true. It was a garbage argument and @RobertWeathers very correctly disagreed.
And it's not always easy for me to give it up to RW, cause most of the time it's just like his opinion man.

I'm glad you two have put aside your differences and come together. Sadly, that makes both of you wrong.

Definitely had a below average arm coming into the league and that injury basically zapped him of what he did have. He did end up having a minor rebound that first year in Miami but was kind of shielded by that Wildcat offense.

Garbage argument.

Tom had the flexibility of going to a team which was already flush with talent. Gronk tagging along certainly helped, drafting two All Pros and key resignings helped. Bill needed to rebuild.

If Bill goes to KC does he win a Super Bowl? Do the 49ers (seeing how their coach poops his pants in big games) win with Bill?

Add to that the fact that the 2020 season should never have happened. Brady's Tampa Bay Super Bowl win should have an asterix. Heck, the Broncos were forced to play a game that season with no QB able to play.

Oh yeah, the wildcat. I think Bill the defensive guru had trouble with that.

Didn't they wait till week 3 or 4 for our first game against them to break that thing out? I remember that game because not only did our defense not know what to do most of the time even when they were in position to make a play they couldn't tackle. 2008 was the end for that Dynasty 1.0 defensive era. Seymour, Vrabel, Rodney, and Bruschi's last year along with that patchwork secondary. That was an aging defense that was nowhere near nimble enough to keep up with all the motion and trick plays.

He made his adjustments and shut it down in Miami.

Jones had a noodle arm, he was never going to be a good NFL QB.
Then the team that drafted him in the first round is a laughing stock.

What's that make the 49ers, a bigger laughingstock? for not only drafting Trey Lance (1 good season at NORTH DAKOTA STATE) 12 spots ahead of Jones but trading up to do so?
You could go on and on with worse picks than Mac Jones at QB in the 1st round, apparently almost every team is now a laughingstock if they missed on a first-round pick, which only has a 50% success rate anyway?

Now that he has good supportive coaching he will shine as Lawrence’s backup.
One of top 3 failings of BB as a coach of all time.
They gave him away for nothing.

Maybe Perderson does deserve that statue?
