Mac Looked great in yesterday's preseason game. 16-23 2 TD's no interceptions. It's only one preseason game (true) but
Amazing what a supportive and non backstabbing coaching staff can do to help a young QB. Mac has a real chance to develop with Pederson into a very good qb.
Maybe fences could have been mended if Bill hadn't thrown this kid under the bus so many times.
Another case of Bill's oversize ego ruining the team. Bill was a pric* with this kid and f'ed him up like he f'ed up the team.

I had advocated for keeping MAC as a backup QB for 24 and seeing how things play out in TC.
Might have allowed Pats to draft Joe Alt or Harrison or Malik Nabors. Or at a minimum been better competition for Maye than Brissett.

If somehow Lawrence goes down and Mac lights it up...it will be yet another huge black eye for "The greatest Coach of All time"
By the way..the greatest coach of all time will end up being "Andy Reid"

I am rooting for:
1. BB to never get the all time wins record
2. not be recognized as greatest head coach of all time
3. Not getting another HC job.

What he did ti the Patriots over the past 5 years was blatant malpractice and his incredibly poor judgment destroyed this franchise. Justice will be for him to not get another job,

Jones had to go. The Pats were going in a completely different direction.

But we’ll never know what could been if the former HC who is .429 post Brady had developed him properly instead of putting a f’n DC and special teams coach in charge of his offense.

I think you are being too harsh. BB's big failing was neglecting the offense and saddling Mac with an impossible situation because he had no one to throw to and had turnstiles for an OL.

After seeing all the screw-ups in this years pathetic Free Agency period, I have to wonder if ownership was the problem; maybe, probably, it was ownership that failed to keep Meyers or get a front line WRs.

Bad coaching hires was definitely a problem also for BB. Things have gone downhill since Scar left and no suitable replacement has been found. I also strongly suspect that Scar was behind some of the good draft picks at the OL position during the Glory Years.

Of course, we all know the the real reason for the Patriots decline was the retirement of Ernie Adams ;^)

Sam, I say this with the best intentions. Get help.

Seek help and never watch or enjoy one of our Superbowl victories again because you wouldn't have a pot to piss in without Bill. you should just leave and go join a Jaguars forum.

That wouldn’t do any good, Jones will end up being cut by the Jags as well. But I agree with you that Sam needs to get some help. Day after day he seeks the most negative thing he can find to discuss. It’s like he’s got a big old thundercloud following him wherever he goes.

how?

by sitting his ass on the bench as a back up in Jacksonville?

There is a debate to be had though about keeping Jones around to play out his rookie deal and compete with or back up Maye instead of signing Brissett.

Like I said I think Jones had to go. New regime, new offense. Not a fit anymore. I’ll be a little miffed though if he does play well in Jax and the Jags trade him for more than the 6th rounder we got.

Reports out of Jacksonville were that Beathard would be the back up, but then he was injured.

Is Mac even the QB2 in Jacksonville?

Statistics born of preseason defense not planned to exploit Jones' known deficiencies and tendencies...yeah, that's a conclusion based on (the consistently attributed to) Barnum's famous saying.

Bullcrap. If we had 20 years of Brady and zero years of Bill, there’s still some championships in there. We needed **** Rehbein more than Bill Belichick.
Bill had to risk his job to play Brady. Without Bill Bledsoe retires a Patriot and Tom would win on another team.
