I don’t think 7. I think it will come after Mayo is fired. Kraft will need to hire a high profile coach. That coach will not come here unless Kraft agrees at least to spend to the cap even if he won’t spend equal cash to cap as other teams.
Mayo would have taken the job if it included walking Krafts dog 3 times a day, so he just does what he is told and thanks “thunder@ hitter job he didn’t deserve.
In other words the Patriots will follow the Dan Snyder model that made Washington the perennial powerhouse we’ve seen for the past few decades?

That’s the same as saying he is inexperienced.

How do you expect him to get better without playing?
Practice. When he’s not running for his life from a jailbreak through the mediocre OL, so he can actually focus on learning and improving.

I see Maye starting Game 5. By then, the OL should be stable. Maye needs the dozen games to make his rookie mistakes.
Optimist.

I'm feeling a extremely optimistic at this very moment, but it could be like Ninkovich. Played with the Pats at the start of the season 5 months short of 26 having had 3 total solo tackles in 3 years. OX will be a couple of years older (3 months short of 28). Might just need a good teacher to get everything to click.
And we just traded away his best role model on the field.

.
If 2-3 of rookie wide receivers pan out along with maye and Robinson/Wallace pan out with sow , we have a cost controlled team for next 3 years and with ample space . We will be a monster for years if maye plays like Allen . Tee Higgins will probably sign here next year.

. Just watch for fun this year to see which rooks develop .
More likely Tee Higgins agrees with Aiyuk and Ridley about joining a team at the bottom of the league. Won’t be seeing big name free agents coming here until the team shows it has turned the corner and learned how to win again. FO just told us that won’t happen this year.

Really? Move J Jones huh. You do realize Marcus Jones has an injury history, along with Wade. You lose either one of those players and you’re screwed.
So maybe we can trade them too.

What are you talking about? They literally had a QB in Wentz who was in MVP contention with Brady that year and might have won it before he got injured in week 14. They just had their first loss of the season the week before. They only lost their final game when they pulled all the starters. With or without their actual starter they were either going 15-1 or 14-2 depending on if they decided to try in the final week

lol whoops! Totally forgot about wentz! Shows u how much I pay attention to other teams. Thanks for the reminder!

Vrabel….Judon …Ninko….van Noy ...and several others did little on other teams but then came here and became pro bowl or really good in a different scheme/role…. so far he looks good… Have to see how it pans out.
Vrabel got pushed out by Joey Porter. Judon was a solid player and starter on the Ravens. Van Noy, Ninko and Vrabel are the best examples of not doing much on their former teams.
10-6-->9-7-->8-8-->5-11 is still a trend in the wrong direction. Point is they turned it around in 2001 and won it all.
While the record says they were trending downward, they had an explanation for it. They let one of the best RB's go after Pete's first year as HC. Then their first round pick suffers a career ending injury. The team had a ton of injuries and Adam V misses multiple kicks during the 1999 season that would've given them a 10-6 record at worst.

In 2001, Bill was installing his system and brought aging vets over to kick start it, but their intention was not to be competing for a Super Bowl run. I think they were regarded around the league as the worst roster in the NFL in 2001.

3rd rounder is an insignificant return for our best player. Not sure how much better we would’ve been able to do. Maybe if we shopped him earlier.

I don’t know where the pass rush is now coming from. White hopefully takes the 2nd year leap we’ve been anticipating him to, Uche hopefully in a contract year has a bounce back year.

Without Judon and Barmore there will not be much of a pass rush. Why people celebrate a rebuild I have no idea.

Losing is kewl because you get high draft picks to go lose some more with yay
We were gonna lose with Judon either way. This trade didn’t change anything in this regard.

The real question is : « is this extra 3 round pick will be more valuable for the Patriots in the future than Judon ? »

It is stoooopid, idiotic trade; one of the worst in Patriots history. The cheapskate Patriots are self-destructing. Judon was a great player and a great leader. The Patriots have cut the soul of their team. This has got to be incredibly demoralizing to rest of the team and the coaching staff. If was Mayo, I would quit right now; it will only get worse.

Like I said before, shortly fans will be begging the Krafts to re-hire BB.

Holy ****. A 3rd?

This is a fantastic trade.
Terrible trade; they should have redid his contract. The Patriots cut the heart and soul out of the team. Anyone who has been to practice could see what a great person he was. The cheapskate Patriots drove another nail into their coffin.

And there goes the best player on the team…….

For a third round pick!
I liked Judon a lot but he did have a slight tendency to give up the edge now and then.

Maybe the Falcons will suck with him and they'll get a better pick.

Our 3rd Rd pick this year is getting beat out by Vedarian Lowe. We aren't going to get closer to the playoffs trading our best players for 3s.
That depends on the pick. The NYFL HOF is chock full of players drafted in the 3rd round and later.

A 3rd is better than many people here expected for a player in his situation.

Yes because judon wasn’t in the plans for 2025 and beyond and like you said we are gonna be bad this year either way.

When this team is the worst in the league, has the #1 pick, and Bill returns to coach a contender, Mayo will be on the hot seat. Bob will get the bus ready for someone to be thrown under. Don’t believe a word Bobby says about 5 year plan nonsense. He was ready to fire Bill in 2001.

This has been a disaster.
BB is the reason this team's in the ****ter right now, not Jerod Mayo.
