Preseason Game 1 discussion: What do you want to see tonight?

Oline and rhythm. Does the offense resemble an nfl offense or does it look like some cookie cutter college unit out there playing with the big boys? Can't have fun watching the qb's if they dont get time to throw. I'm also curious to see if Gonzo's problems continue into game action and if the D is as good as the offense makes it out to be.

Is Drake gonna play any meaningful minutes or are we gonna hold him back both in pre season and the regular season?

2 drives isn't gonna cut it.

He's most likely playing the whole 2nd quarter and maybe the first drive of the third quarter

Is it weird that I’m more excited about the preseason games this year than the regular season? Want to see lots of Maye and Milton… Maye to get a glimpse of the teams future, and Milton just for the entertainment.

TEs are always a tremendous outlet for young QBs. A big body receiver in the short field is a quick up field option that is very efficient (along with the classic check down to a RB).

Just to give him a chance. If Milton completely sucks out there, the third string spot may go to Zappe. Ultimately, I can't imagine the Patriots do end up keeping Zappe unless they don't want to throw Maye out to the wolves in the event that Brissett gets hurt. Zappe provides a reliable backup option this season.

I think it's real close Boutte have caught most of his passes from Maye. Alos Tyquan really Needs to make it through this TC healthy.

If Milton faceplants then yeah they'll probably hang on to Zappe for now. He is cheap and has 1 year left after this one. Also easy to stash on the PS.

WR - Baker, Polk, Boutte,Thornton, Reagor - how do the kids look? Do Baker and Reagor live up to the camp hype? Can Thornton keep from getting injured the first time he gets touched?
TE - Bell, Warren - curious if these guys show any intrigue
OT - Mainly just wanna see who is out there and how good or bad they look
C - Mafi - can he snap the ball effectively?
DT - Pharms, Purcell, Hill - how does the depth look
DE/OLB - Ximines - another camp star
CB - who gets the most snaps, who looks good and is competing for a starting job? Austin, Bolden, Wilson, Dial
S - Hawkins, Pettus - also getting some hype
K - how do both of our guys look, who has the edge? Can Ryland be trusted?
P - Wanna see some Baringer bombs

and finally, the kick return game - how prepared do they look for the new rules? Who are the returners? Do they try anything different vs. what other teams are doing? How successful are they?

edit: forgot to add - the coaching. How prepared do Mayo & co look? First time Mayo is running the show in a live game operation. What about AVP, Covington and Springer? Are play calls coming in on time? How is Mayo's clock management, is he challenging effectively?

Dude. Maye is gonna have an underwhelming game, perhaps even struggle. Milton is going to come out and light it up against a bunch of guys that’ll be flipping burgers by the end of the month. Watching the fans flip for Milton is gonna be wild.
