Preseason Game 1 discussion: What do you want to see tonight?

Here's a handy chart of the guys I'm watching tonight with numbers at positions of need:

We'll see if the starters play at all. I wonder if we'll see Zappe and Milton only?

Option C: Maye looks rough, Milton looks good against 4th stringers, fans turn on Maye and scream for Milton
Option D: Maye and Milton both look rough, fans call for Wolf's firing
Option E: Maye and Milton both look rough but Zappe looks great - the apocalypse is upon us

I think option b with fans turning on Brisset isn’t really likely since well…a lot of “fans” arent behind brisket to begin with…I think option e would be instantly amusing.

1. O-Line: I know everyone is concerned about pass blocking but I also want to see if they can consistently open up holes for the running game, they keep saying they are going to be a running team, if they want any success this season they better be able to run block, there were a lot of practices in training camp when they didn’t.

2. Offense: Will the offense have any rhythm to it? Lining up correctly, no offsides, no illegal substitutions.

3. Tackling: Monday was there first live tackling session, I’m not sure if they had another session on Tuesday, if they did that is only two live tackling sessions.

4. Rookie receivers: They’ve looked good in training camp, I want to see it with opposing CB’s covering them. I’m confident they will.

If they can't run the ball it's going to be a real ugly season. Still gonna be ugly anyways

while your post might be in jest (sorta), i remember a time we (i say we because indeed, drunk pape was part of it) chanted for Zolak to actually play in games...

So far the reports from camp on Polk have been variable, but some reports say he has stood out against the CBs; I am not able to get to camp to see for myself so I really want to see how he does in a game. However I am willing to give Wolf the benefit of the doubt here; there is a lot more to WRs than their 40 time. One worry is that it seems as if the guy that Patriots really wanted was Xavier Legette, but could not make the trade and had to "settle" for Polk. We shall see, but it may take a few preseason games to find out.

Just as an aside, I went and looked at Legette's highlights, and I was not impressed. Sure he has record breaking speed in the 40, but he does not have great moves. Baker and Douglas have better moves. Not sure about Polk yet.
