I'm seeing/hearing positive buzz around rookie WR Ja'Lynn Polk. Looks like we might have got a good one.
Nice looking route for Polk:

From what I’ve seen there’s positive buzz around Polk and even more positive buzz around Baker.
WRs in general seem to be young, talented, and hungry. Except Juju of course. I’m starting to be cautiously optimistic about the offense.
I’m thinking our expectations may prove to be upside down, or backwards. We’ve been expecting a good to perhaps even great defense, and a mediocre at best offense.
On offense, at the skill positions we know Brisket will be the QB, and while he won’t carry the team he also won’t throw picks and lose games for us. Talk is we’ll see a run-first team, and that probably means a dink and dunk spread it around passing game. That will work well with Brisset’s experience. WRs look like we have at least six or seven roster worthy players. Actually, counting Bourne with Baker, Boutte, Douglas, Osborn, Polk, Reagor, and Thornton there’s 8 WRs without Juju. TE and RB look like we have good enough talent, maybe with need for a bit more depth. OL seems to be starting to shape up. It is starting to look to me like offense will outperform expectations.
Defense is trending the other way. Looks like we’re going to lose our two best defensive players with Barmore gone and the front office shunning Judon. Godchaux is unhappy about his contract too. There’s a hole at safety. Gonzo is back but the rest of the CBs aren’t able to shut down even our own young WRs. Worst of all is the front office handling of Judon’s contract situation, not even engaging with an established star, one of the best players on the roster, who has said he’d like to retire as a Patriot and can’t even get the team to respond to his contract proposal. The FO may end up kicking Judon to the curb after losing Barmore and putting the D behind the eight ball, when we expected a top 5 D this season.
I’m more worried about the D than the O, at the moment.
