Never thought this was going to happen.

That makes two of us. Not often in baseball a manager 1/2 way through a contract year re-signs. Breaking spring training without a new contract is usually the kiss of death. I can certainly understand why any team would want to sign Cora. What I can't understand is why Cora would want to continue working for John Henry

That's great news. So happy the team is playing hard for him today

It's the first sign that they might actually TRY to win in the next year or two.

They locked up up one of the very best, if not the best manager in mlb.
Been a fan since since the early 60's and in the past 65 years the Sawx have had 3 truly great managers: **** Williams (who ahole owner Yawkey refused to pay and he goes on to win multiple World Series and help the A's become a dynasty), Tito, who again ahole owner Henry jettisons and Cora, who slap me upside the head Henry actually extends and pays him what he's worth(2nd highest Mgr contract after Counsell).
The Sox have the #2 prospect in mlb in SS Mayer plus a total of 5 in the top 50.
A ton of talent in the minors.
A ton of young talent on the team right now.
Crossing my fingers Henry and his miserly ways won't screw this up.
I'm skeptical but he shocked me with this contract with Cora. Maybe Old John is tired of being hated?

I dunno. I don't trust him to keep his core of young players and give them a chance to develop and gel. I think he'll screw it up. I am not sold and not tuning in yet.

Rockies tied their highest run total for a 9 inning game on Wednesday. Glad I braved the 95 degree temps with the world's worst air quality to watch....
