Wow! I didn’t see that one coming. If he returns to 2022 form I believe hes worth it, he was pretty much the whole offense that year and probably why it wasn’t another 4 win type season.

Last year i feel like he was hampered by something the first month or so. He finally regained that gamebreaker form against Washington, had a couple more good games and then a few weeks later season ended.

Yuck. Agreed, I like Rhamondre and I think he could flourish once the line improves.

But 9 million a season for a RB that's not elite level is not the best use of resources.

Oh well. This is probably the first contract this season I didn't like from Wolf and co. Still getting great value deals elsewhere.

Doubt this is $9 million a season. Probably much lower unless he makes all his incentives, in which case, this might be a good deal.

Hardnose runner, can't judge the contract 'til we know the particulars. $17M in gurantees isn't all that bad, how the incentives are structured will determine the quality of the signing.

I'm not sure why I keep forgetting this every time I hear initial deal figures. This is how Wolf's been operating all offseason. I bet there are heavy incentive bases here.

And, considering that they don't have a good and young at least 2 down back (BB wasted the first 2 seasons of Kevin Harris), and they didn't nab Braelon Allen when they had the chance (the Jets took him), and combined with the current OL, he'll be more likely to be overused and as a result, more prone to injuries.

good for rahm... decent money, do want to see what the incentives are... maybe he can top 1000 yards again... which shouldn't be too hard with a 17 game schedule... only 59 yards per game...

Yep, $17m in guarantees doesn’t seem like that much to me so like someone else said, if he makes anywhere near 36m hes probably very well worth it. Plus it should be fairly easy to get out of the contract in case you DO see other better opportunities to spend. Im not a fan of paying rbs either but honestly right now i dont see where else to spend the $ until we swing a big trade or draft some studs. The wr’s and ot’s that are worth opening up the checkbook for rarely ever hit fa.

Good hard nosed runner and pretty good catching out of the backfield too. With a young QB taking over sooner than later he will be very helpful.

Solid move, needed to keep the guy, clearly their #1 RB.
If he somehow hits all the incentives: 1600 scrimmage yards and 1st/2nd all pro from 2025-2028 its 12 million per year. Franchise tag for RB expected to be up a couple million to $13 million in 2025.
Thus a 36-48 million range overall if he plays well is fair value.
Risk is RB's don't tend to last long at peak level so always a concern there but every year the cap goes up.
They don't have any other #1 RB ready to go so they have some time to draft and develop someone to go along with and eventually replace him.

Wolf and Mayo are taking care of their own players.
That goes a long way to build a solid foundation as well as have other free agents feel good about coming here.

Rham has top 10 RB ability this contract is deserved.
Now go trade for Aiyuk Judon and a third sounds about right.
