Things I will miss about BB

They really don't have much similarities. Mayo is more like Jim Tomsula than Tomlin.

Mayo wasn't known around the league for anything and the unit he coached has been a weak link with the defense for years. Tomlin's claim to fame was coaching with Tony Dungy and winning a Super Bowl and then Pat/Kevin Williams in Minnesota. At least Tomlin was a DC for a year. Mayo was offered the title last season, but he rejected it.

There's a reason Mayo ditched the interview with Carolina and ran right back to NE. Bob probably told him if he comes back, he'll have in his contract that Mayo will succeed BB. Mayo probably didn't have much confidence he was going to get the Carolina gig.
Or maybe he wanted to stay in NE and coach the Pats.

Hard to put faith in anyone who would draft Jordan Richards in the 2nd round. That was inexplicable at the time and got worse.

He made other surprising picks, like Duron Harmon, but Harmon surprised people and proved to be worth the pick.
Duke Dawson, Cyrus Jones, Devin Asiasi, Dalton keene...

Yeah, Mayo is just like him except for the 17 consecutive non-losing seasons. And that Superbowl victory. But let’s be fair to Big Ben, Tomlin had a 65% win pct with him, and a decent but pedestrian 54% without him. As we know from BB, the QB matters.

Forgive me for failing to suspend my disbelief. I’ll reevaluate my position when he takes the team to the playoffs.
Grandpa Mayo was in the Air Force.

Chad WIDE-land, sanfu for a 2nd rounder, juju, Mac, not signing Myers for a milly, strange *, Derek rivers, Jonathan BAD-imosi,
I didn't think Ryland should have been drafted as early as he was but at least he made the team. He has his moments but I don't think he has the consistency.

IMO wasting a 5th on Justin Rohrwasser who didn't even make the team was more egregious than Ryland.

Yes wasn't he a 4th round?? Your absolutely right.. I don't know much about FG kickers other than it's on alignment, the snap holder and the weather.. we should have kept big kick nick

LOL. How did that work out with Brady, Harry, Butler’s benching….the list goes on and on?

1. Death
2. Taxes
3. Roger being a *****
4. Patsfans.com members being unable to move on.
I may as well join in then.

Even though the results haven't been good since Brady left, I will miss the mystique of Coach Belichick as seen around the league. You always hear it from other fans and media even in recent years, things like "We're playing Belichick this week!" or "What will Belichick do against <team whatever>?" and so on.

I mean what other HC gets to be featured in a graphic like this instead of a player.

Absolutely agree. He certainly had a mystique about him.. the guys been part of football for 5 decades. I believe honestly players respected bill but loved TB12...

What I am going to miss about BB is the knowledge that when we went into a game against anyone, we had a chance. The knowledge that we would be better prepared and better coached than any other team in the league was re-assuring. Sure BB had some serious problems as a GM, but he was the best at coaching with the guys he had.

When Bill had nothing he cared to say, he was at least honest enough to say nothing, or do that internal nose-blow thing (That I do not miss.). I appreciated the honesty.

Mayo never has anything to say either but does so at length: just a lot of jargon-ridden gibberish interspersed with "at the same time," following which he contradicts whatever he said in his previous sentence. If you have nothing to say, just consider shutting up, or at least saying so. For me the "nice guy" thing is already wearing thin.

"We are on to Cincinnati. At the same time, we are not on to Cincinnati. Let me explain. At the same time, no explanation is needed, so we'll certainly collaborate on it. But at the same time, I'll be making the final decision by myself in consultation with my other partners...."

Enough already.

PS What the Hell is a "reaction score." Can I get a toaster oven or something?

So what? It's just word salad to fill the time.

Imagine taking sports interviews seriously.

I think Bill's strength was his defense, not offense, and that may explain why he had 8 losing seasons out of the 10 when he didn't have Brady but had a 20 year dynasty with him. Another indicator is that Bill got two titles as a DC with NY under Tuna ****, who was at least smart enough to try and hang on to Bill's defense for as long as he could.

Bill was smart enough to know how to respond to questions and give the fans something. I wish he had done that more often.
Mayo interviews like Brady used to when he was here. Lots of really nice sounding nothing.
As Billy Preston once asked, will it go round in circles?

I never thought of that before but now that you mention it... yeah I agree. Maybe JM learned that style from Brady himself.

He wouldn't be the only person that learned some from the GOAT...
